Everquest
Everquest is an MMOG set in a fantasy world where a person is able to play and communicate with thousands of
others around the world in real time. This in turn leads to a variety of levels of social interaction, from casually
speaking with fellow players about real life events, to requesting aid in an adventure, to personal interactions such
as in game friendships and marriages. Although MMOGs like Everquest which is the "most successful MMOG to date,"¹ can be
a highly addictive escape, the virtual world acts as a vessel for bringing together people with a common interest, which
in turn, creates a community that allows a variety of different relationships to be formed.
