Favourite Sites
You can imagine this page will be updated from time to time. Anyway, here you can find sites I visit on regular basis!
Creativity
Because these sites are so alike, I'll discuss the positive and negative points about them so that you can make a choice.
DeviantART is definitely my most-visited website. Here, you can post everything from drawings to lyrics, from fiction to icons - almost everything creative!
Positive: It's easy to make an account and get started. You can also comment on other people's work or add them to your favourites if you really like them.
Negative: they often change the categorizing making it confusing; browsing isn't always up-to-date and I notice that quite some friends experience stuff as inaccurate countings on comments and disappearing comments. You have to subscribe for more advanced functions.
SheezyART looks like DeviantART, and most people from one site also join the other.
Positive: SheezyART supports some functions you can only have on DeviantART if you subscribe. For example, you can read the comments and look at the updates before you have to click on them. Unlike DeviantART, you can also upload music on SheezyART.
Negative: It's not as active as DeviantART and the search function ceases to work. And if you browse through someone's gallery, click one thing and go back, you have to browse all the way back again to get back to the page you started at.
Related to my hobbies
Chibiyuuto's LiveJournal is perfect if you want to be up-to-date when it comes to things about the manga ka group CLAMP. He also posts about Harry Potter and is REALLY quick. He also provides you with good links referring to scanned manga chapters and the like.
Tsubasa scanlations and xxxHOLiC scanlations are quick and translated for you on these two sites. If a chapter is out in Japan one day, you can expect it to appear within the next two days. It's very handy if you want to know in advance what happens before you buy the official English volumes, but you must promise me you will buy them when they come out ^_~
Last.FM isn't exactly related to a hobby, although I like listening to music. Here, you can make a profile and download a program that allows you to 'scrobble' the music you're listening. This contains providing you with information about the artist and, if available, the song. Last.FM also automatically makes up a 'most listened' list for you. You can also meet other people who like the same music and make some friends!
Fanfiction.net is great if you're, well, a fanfiction writer. You can upload, read others, receive comments to get better and comment on other stories to help them improve. One thing: you can't remove reviews, even if they're spam, if they're not made by someone posting as 'anonymous'.
Asuca Hayashi has a blog! Well, it's Japanese, but she also posts a lot of photos. I don't check it that often because I can't read it (my computer doesn't recognize Japanese fonts), but because I love her, here you go. ^_^ She's a frequent updater!
