some editting to my original msg:

it has been a fantastic trip..actually more than fantastic...nv had more fun on a trip!! thanks to JC for making the arrangements when we were all busy with our examinations..really appreciated that!! oh yeah what abt a big treat to JC and SM to thank them for the trip? okie juz SM then..JC already had his share on that tim sum anyway

really enjoyed myself thoroughly..even when i was suffering abrasions and major discomfort during our cave exploring....i'd do it all over again!!! the food there was great..thanks to SM's recommendations..the shopping trip was a major fiasco..since we were "practically broke"..but thanks to the gers who allowed me to buy a top..felt quite bad when i realised later that we din have money for dinner!! almost resorted to drinking "sky juice" (RM 0.30) at the restaurant..oh man..

special thanks to SM for making our ipoh trip a great one..ur parents have been fabulous hosts...it must be hard to have 7 guests all at once..not to mention noisy ones..and the fact that ur whole family had to sleep in one room to make space for us..thanks to ur bro for driving us around..at the expense of his time..in short..thanks for EVERYTHING..felt quite reluctant to leave actually heh it had been so much fun!!

also wan to say thanks for the great company.. glad to have frens like u guys...hope we can have another trip soon!! i'd settle for playing bridge and dai di in some ulu chalet though..heh cos even that had us shrieking with laughter!! okie shall slip in a special note here..all the gers have agreed that JC has become a much nicer guy ( this doesn't mean u r v nice cos the original state was way below standard k! )..miss ng and mrs loo would be proud of u!! maybe even mr ang..hahahha..pls keep it up and we may see u as the first guy from 1600 down the wedding aisle! thanks also to zhihao SM and aldo for helping the gers through the rough bits and taking care of us MOST of the time...hahahha..PW will elaborate on how we were almost knocked out by 4 cans of beers and taken away by 3 drunk guys to India

okie that's all *phew* take care and let's meet up soon!!

Love, Lydia

Thanx to everyone for the great trip, especially to Sze Min and his family for accommodating us for the 3 days.

Jus a few thoughts, I never expected myself to fall sick due to nice weather at Genting. While I enjoyed my peace and tranquility resting when u guys were exploring caves and gathering guano, it struck me that i have became like ALDWIN! OH MY GOD! He always dropped sick whenever we went out so I was determined to recover at all costs, hence my speedy recovery.(I'm back! with a vengeance!, no thanx to limin who stole my punchline).

All in all, this was a memorable trip, the food, the sights and sounds (sounds by the girls not so much appreciated), the internet, the movies, the company, the snoring ( Aldo, u'll pay for that!) n the food, oh i said food already rite? Right now, my mind is so filled with fond memories from the trip that I think it can last me a lifetime! How I wish it wouldn't end so soon...it was really so much fun!

Honestly, I thought I wouldn’t survive the trip because I was already missing home even before leaving…but u guys made up for everythg…I felt as comfortable as I was with my family…the way we all looked out and cared for one another really warmed my heart…how the guys would volunteer to carry our luggages; how aldo stays behind with me while hiking the mountain; how jc offered to help me fill the water bottles; how sm always stays ahead in the cave exploration to
brave the unknown just so we know we’re in good hands when we get there…all these and so much more…I just want to let u know, that all ur little acts of concern never went unnoticed because I really do appreciate them…

To sm, I think we really can't thank you and ur family enough for going all out to bring us around...much as I felt like I was being tortured hiking the mountain, I must say that I sincerely enjoyed myself a lot...especially the cave exploration, the food, and most importantly, the hospitality...

To everyone, thank you so much for making this trip possible and so enjoyable...I cannot imagine the trip without any1 of you...and I hope there will be many more trips to come!

Much as we marvel at how jc has changed for the better, zhihao becoming cornier by the minute, and the girls becoming prettier by the day (Ahem…haha...), our friendship definitely remains, stronger than before…Thank you so much for the friendship, and for bringing so much joy into my life…I will never forget this wonderful experience…=)

Luv, FY

Genting

The stay was fun. Had a nice time playing the outdoor rides ... swinging around, free-falling, spinning and experiencing how milkshake feels when its being made. :) The weather makes it more fun, since we were literally surrounded by fog and mist.

Watched 'Hell Boy' and 'Starsky and Hartch' at a cheap rate of RM7.00 and RM5.00. For some reason 'Hell Boy' was called 'Super Sapiens' instead in m'sia ... makes it halal? Haha ... no offence :]

Basically had fast food all the time here ... except second morning, coz we had free buffet breakfast. Second nite was sometin new, been to the casino to watch ppl get excited over gambling. Wasn't too interested in the gambling part, juz interesting to see ppl doing it. Man, dun they noe probability and statistics? How often can u win? hahaha ... I was actually stopped at the entrance coz i look underage?!? Had to show them my NRIC b4 i managed to get in ...

Well, the nites were mainly occupied wif card-playing, chatting, making-fun of each other and probably moth-catching (for the girls only coz they tend to hav a greater affinity for moths c",) Oh ya ... thanks to peiwen's enthusiasm in teaching, we now hav at least 4 ppl to play bridge during class outings next time.

I juz noticed tat everyone looked a bit different. But all for the better lah ... haha. The girls, as usual, had no problems finding a common frequency to start broadcasting. Guys hav much to crap abt too. It was a great time since we haven't met for quite a period and its gd to noe some "updates" from everyone :)

Ipoh

After a 20 min cable-car ride down from genting, some waiting and a 3 hr coach-ride, we arrived at szemin's hometown. Looked quite the same as my grandmothers' place in perak.

Had a delicious time munching and savouring tasty ipoh food. Tried original Ipoh horfun wif obese bean-sprouts. Nice. Wanton mee was good too, and i think i tried it more than once loh. Had my fair share of Dim Sum in some renowned restoran (note the spelling) ... after much waiting coz it was sooo popular. Penang laksa was wonderful man, i missed those rich asam gravy with real makeral fish ... s'pore's penang laksa used sardines most of the time! The pasar malam brings back memories of childhood visits to perak relatives ... still as yummy man, the food. I wish i got more time to finish each type of kuehs and delicacies.

Did some cave-exploring w/o juncong. He was on ATT C due to the cold weather in genting (and wearing too little? :p ) We had a vivid tour guide, who keep calling us 'boss'. The walk tru the bat-inhabited caves was quite cool (and wet). We realli got to go into the deep parts, sometimes crawling on all fours coz the tunnel was super-low and half-filled wif flowing water. The boulders, stalactites and stalagmites formed nice structures resembling animals or cars or ppl. Too bad we din take any pictures in the caves ... but its ok since we'll wet our cameras if we brought them. A pity tat these caves are not realli suitable for rock-climbing.

We went for some trekkin too. JC recovered by then to join us. Nice small waterfall and river at the upstream. Met some ppl running, like some military ppl. The top had a birds'-eye-view over the area ... reminiscent of army days ... hahaha. Hope we din go too fast coz the girls were having wobbly knees by the end.

Bought some local produces for my family. Got a polo-T for my father and a nice felt-hat for lil sis. Probably would get sometin else from s'pore for mother coz mothers' day is coming.

Realli got to thank szemin for the ipoh stay. His family's been a great host. All the steamboat goodies, snacks, 'restoran' dinner and driving-us-around. It's fortunate we hav thoughtful girls around with us on this trip. Lydia, limin, fengyi, peiwen formed the shopping crew to buy our thank-u gifts for szemin and family.
