I'm Spartacus !!. I'm Spartacus !!!.Yes, I'm Spartacus, one from the commons. My journey started when I was in Rourkela,Orissa ,India . My father was working as an Engineer in the Steel Plant there. I was always a mediocre student , very naughty and restless. As I said before, I had poked spoon inside a switchboard plug, used to break my favourite cycle every otherday and many other incidents. I studied there till my Secondary school finals, astonisingly my results were quite unexpected. Baba (call father like that) got a transfer to Calcutta,India , and since I had achieved good marks , got an easy entry in Asutosh College. When I was in Higher secondary I became a quite and polite gentleman. Might be the split from Rourkela and my friends changed me. Ma (call Mum like that) is a singer , she had more opportunities in Calcutta, she got more radio and TV programmes. She sings Nazrulgeeti , Ghazals and Geets . She even used to run a school of private tutions. Bhai (call younger brother) is a piece of my heart. He is 5 years younger than me. We always had nice time together, we used to feel each others deepest feelings. As I had become quiet my attention was more focussed to studies. I knew I had to do something good in my Higher Secondary exams . We have a custom of appearing for a Joint Entrance exam conducted throughout the state of West Bengal. Few lacs of students appear for the exam each year. That is the gateway of every student to Engineering and Medical professions. There are many other exams as well , but JE is the most popular one . I was not that much interested for the exam, but Baba one day quite reluctantly handed me the application form. I filled up thinking that I will just sit for the exam, and have a try. When the results came my family was overjoyed. I stood 2nd in Asutosh College Higher Secondary exams, and also got a seat in Computer Science Engineering in Jadavpur University. I was at the top of my world really , that was the first day when I had achieved something that I really aspired for.That was 1994 , initially I was really scared to face the most brilliant students from all over the state. The first boy of the HS was my collegue. I was really scared, all my class mates looked so very academic . My first few days were really horrible. But I swear to tell you, these faces changed color so fast like a litmus paper that today these people hold a major place in my heart. I had the most pleasurable time during those four years . During these four years we had so many memorable incidents , we still think of those days. We are still in touch with each other , the details are present in this friends list. During these years I had another important event of my life, which has become my best half. Yes my wife , I met my wife Arpita during these years , we shared every moment in a different way. Therefore our love affair was different from the crowd. I found my life so lush green during those days , I forgot that hard times were imminent. I got a job in Tata Consultancy Services, TCS and had to leave home for the first time in 1998 after Graduation. All the friends started splitting , some went abroad to pursue higher studies, and some spread throughout the heart of India. I had to go to the Southern Switzerland of India , Trivandrum, Kerala, for my training. I again spent wonderful days there, but at the back of my mind I was homesick. Then I got posted to Delhi, capital of India. I stayed there for a year , shared a flat together with few of my JU friends. We had a great time there, sometimes went to visit Jaipur ,Rajasthan etc. In 1999 I got an opportunity to work for Merril Lynch in London and I grabbed it. I got through the rigorous interview and was selected. I came to London on 18th September 1999. After staying in London for another year I went back to India to get tied in wedlock with the person of my dreams. We all enjoyed a lot there , it was a wonderful experience altogether.I have stayed in London for over a year and half , and I have definitely increased my skills ,and thus have decorated my Resume. I take a lot of interest in Indian music (might be inherited from Ma). I sing a lot during relaxation times. That is another thing which is close to my heart.Bhai is studying Communications Engineering in CV Raman College,Bhubaneswar, Orissa. Baba has been retransferred to Rourkela again, Ma stays with him now. I'm with my life and wife here in London. The closest people in my life are Ma, Baba, Bhai, Wife and a handful of friends.
