This is a shot during the Baronial Archery Championship tourney. Here we see spectators watching with the assembled archers as one of the Archer Marshals explains the challenge. Rather than just target shooting accuracy, Championship events have many novelty targets that are difficult...and at least one in the event that day was moving. Such compeititions truely test the skill of any competitior |

This activity is the Page's List. Heavy Arms are restricted to certain ages for medical reasons as well as control. despite those restrictions, there are ways to allow the younger members to participate in the Heraldic combat arts with padded weapons and more strict marshalling and safety rules. Here we see two youngsters in armor, facing off under the guidance of two marshals |

One of the newest Arts practiced in The East and The SCA is Thrown Weapons. I admit haing spent little time attempting this skill so if I ever needed it in real life I'd use a heavy hand axe so I can aim for my opponent's head so the weight would take him out with a head hit if the blade did not strike. Heheheh.
But really, It is intersting to watch the competitions adn admire the skill of the competitiors. |
