This is a shot of the minstrel Loriwynn The Harper. She has a wide range of both well known and obscure songs, all of which are guaranteed to stir the soul. During this weekend we were honored to hear a song written about a lost friend, the Swordmaster Elrond Shadowmaker. Master Shadowmaker was a true spirit of the steel he worked and his art shall not easily be matched by the younger generations. The gift of the music made by Loriwynn is a chance to live inside the dream and an honor for us all. |

There is not an event in The Swamp which will not be graced by the presence of Morgaine. While I know she started playing after I did, I cannot remember a single Swamp event or meeting where she was not present, lending a hand, playing a part in court schtick or just making things more fun for all. She is quick to lend her hand to every event, as we see her working troll here, and it is rare when she is only working one job. Vivat Morgaine!! |

These are gentles who's names escape me. I would be glad for an email from anyone to remind me. I took this picture for several reasons. First, I liked the various garb styles. Second, I am a Herald, one who reads the Coats of Arms borne by others to devine their names and relationships. I could not identify the tartan of the Lord in the foreground so I took the picture as an excersize. I have looked through my books based on the, admittedly fuzzy, detail I can see in the picture and tentitively identified the tartan as an Irish Clan "Ulster Red". I will see if I get a correcting or confirming email or if I can ask the Lord when next we meet.
A note about Heraldry. A good herald can benefit a group very much in the color that herald brings to their group. Groups with active heralds will have and display more Armory(Coats of Arms) showing more colorful and varied Arms in more places and ways. This can only enhance the shift from a modern site used by The SCA to a site 'out of time' where we can truely embrace our hobby and allow our imaginations to run wilder! |
| Those we missNo Settmour event would be complete without those who have been a mainstay and corner stone of so much that is The Barony. The two Baronesses Ursula and Merlinia as well as Baron Irik, lost to the Current Middle Ages but always in our hearts. |
