Tenor 2

Elmar
January 30, 1986
[email protected]
Civil Engineering (CE- 1)

Elmar is a 17-year-old freshman taking up Civil Engineering. This young guy is a frustrated pianist. He used to dream to be like Mozart and to be a member of the choir. Thats why when he passed the auditions of MITCS he said to himself Thank God for giving me almost half of my greatest dreams!!!

Elmar is a tall, chubby and very funny guy. He is a music lover and always listens to different types of music especially acoustic. However, he admits that he terribly hates rap metal music.

Being a newcomer of the chorale, he shows enthusiasm for learning new pieces. He admits that there is still more that he has to learn, but he stays motivated to be better at this craft.

Tenor 2

Gregg

[email protected]
graduate of: Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE)
2nd degree: Electrical Engineering(EE-5}

Greggs life with music started at a very young age. From a simple Do, Re, Mi he learned to play the piano all by himself. At the age nine, he became a finalist in a piano recital competition and since then, he started to explore his world in music. In college, while taking-up engineering, he took a few semesters of violin lessons at U.P. College of Music, Extension Program. It was only in 1998, when Gregg joined a choir in their parish that his passion for singing started.

Gregg is a man of principles and is best in giving pieces of advice to all his friends and he never fails to be a brother to all of us. He would always want to see you smile and make you laugh for he surely knows when and how to hit the right joke at the right time. If you ask Gregg on how he handles lifes challenges, he simply answers, I cast all my burdens upon the Lord for He gives me rest and from there I find peace and strength to face life again.

graduate of: Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE)
2nd degree: Electrical Engineering (EE-3)

A man made of pure talent, energy and a healthy dose of sense of humor (sometimes toilet humor, even). He is one of the known faces in the chorale and he is mostly invited to sing at school engagements and even as a front act for famous bands.

He is a composer, pianist and singer all rolled into one. His songs range from ballads to pop to modern, and even some with patriotic themes. Dont be fooled by his funny face though, behind it is a man with passion and a love for performing on stage. He frequently joins competitions in order to have much more needed experience in the craft.

He is a legend for us members and we will forever remember his voice, his jokes and most importantly his humor!

Jonathan, more often called by his surname, is an alumnus of Mapua with a BS degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering.

One of the founding members of the group, he sings as a Tenor 1 and is a soloist for some of the songs. This guy is treasured by the group and considered as one of the most thorough persons in the choir. He is very particular with the interpretations of songs and most often found to give out his own constructive criticism after every performance and rehearsal.

With that said, he may seem to others as serious but in reality he is also one of the comedians in the group. His wit and jokes stand out every time the group engages in a discussion. Jonathan continues to perfect his singing style and has been heading his own childrens choir in his church.

Tenor 1

Khel
June 17, 1981
[email protected]
graduate of: Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE)

Khel is a natural born music lover. All members of his family can sing and play a number of musical instruments. During his elementary and high school years, he often joins singing contests. But it was during his high school years at the Immaculate Conception Seminary where he developed his voice. At first look you will not say that he is from seminary because of his contrabida look emphasized by his beard. Know him better and you'll discover how kind, humble and cool friend he is.

Joining chorales such as MIT Concert Singers is his greatest dream. Sharing his God given talents to others, further enhancing his voice and to have cool and good friends are his reasons for joining the group. He is also a member of Sto. Rosario Youth Choir where he sometimes teaches songs with various type of music.

After the tour he plans to take the board examination to be a licensed Electronics and Communications Engineer. Although he is now an alumnus of the choir, he promises not to leave the MIT Concert Singers behind

Possessing an unbelievable vocal range unmatched by any other has enabled Reynald to be an accomplished singer at an early age. Having discovered his love for music, he started playing the piano at the age of 9.

It was not long before he became the church organist for the Sta. Cruz Parish back at his hometown in Marinduque. While studying and practicing his skills at the keyboard, he began honing his other talent, which is singing. He joined the PREX Choir at the Our Lady of Hope in Pag-asa, Quezon City when he went to Manila to study at the Mapua Institute of Technology.

Since then, he has continued to excel not only in his academics but also in his other activities. He auditioned for the St. Rita Ensemble during his junior year where he became the choirs conductor and then joined the MITCS.

Now that he is a licensed Electronics and Communications Engineer, he still pursues his interest in music by continuing as an alumni member of the Mapua Institute of Technology Concert Singers.

Despite his accomplishments, Reynald remains a humble and true friend. He prefers going out with his barkada (friends) when he has the time and never fails to amuse them with his antics.
