The chorale was then trained by Mr. Patrick August S. Frias and several months later, adviser Engr. Abraham Manalo, came in to further help in the organization of the group. With a new name, conductor and adviser, the group was set to perform for various institute engagements and outreach activities.
The 23rd day of November that same year marked the launching performance of the group. The concert named TECHNOLOGY IN HARMONY was done together with the renowned Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Roggero Barbieri.
The MIT Concert Singers together with the Filipino Community of San Bernardino California, USA, have also embarked on an outreach activity on October 20, 2002,called Balikatan Ng Mga Magkakapatid, for the benefit of the misplaced kababayans (deportees) from Malaysia and other Filipino people in need. The outreach project was made successful with the help of the ABS-CBN Foundation who helped in the distribution of the donations. On December 8 of the same year, the group was invited as a guest group performer at ABS-CBN Foundation's telethon project, "A Call for a Better World" which was broadcasted internationally.
August 21, 2003, the group flew to the North American continent for their 1st international concert tour which also marked the school's very first international cultural achievement. The group visited and touched the hearts of the Filipino, Canadian and American audiences in Calgary, Toronto, New York, New Jersey, Chicago, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Hawaii. They had numerous concerts and performances to which they were never weakly applauded. The public acclaim showered on the choir is an affirmation of the impact that this group of young choristers always leaves its audience.
A few months after the group's successful North American tour, Mr. Raymund Julius "Nonong" Palmares assumed the leadership as the new conductor and musical director of the choir. Nonong is now a graduating student of the University of Sto. Thomas, taking-up Conservatory of Music, major in Choral Conducting. However, several months after, Nonong had to leave the group.
At present, the MITCS new conductor and musical director is Mr. Angelito Enriquez Y Ayran Jr., �Jun Ayran� known by many, a baritone, who earned his Bachelor�s Degree in Music at the University of Santo Tomas, Conservatory of Music in Music Education major in voice under the tutelage of Prof. Irma P.E. Potenciano.
The MIT Concert Singers has gone to several regional and international activities and has performed countless times on gatherings and functions within and outside the school. The chorale still has a lot of dreams to reach. From hereon, the group continues to work for excellence and further accomplishments, carrying with them the name of their Alma Mater and high hopes for distinction and success.
