The Brave 13 led by Henry Campsie shut the Gates
Above are the names and a depiction of the 13 apprentices, led by Henry Campsie, shutting the Ferryquay Gate on the 7th December 1688 in the face of the despotic King James II and his army.  By their courageous and daring actions they secured Londonderry for King William III, ensuring the success of the Glorious Revolution and securing the human and civil rights we take for granted today.
