My parents had 8 children. Let’s see…. there’s Bill, Tom, Claudia, Jo, Pat, Sue, Mike and Mary. How easily those names roll off the tongue. Or am I just used to saying them? My parent’s names are Claude and Julia, names that belong together, names that to me are Mom and Dad.
My Dad was in the US Navy for 20 years and we lived on Grosse Isle when it was a Naval Base. My Dad was a corpsman and after he retired from the Navy after a few odd jobs he became a first-aid man at McLouth Steel which is now closed but not before he also retired from there .
My Mom was a stay at home wife/mother most of her married life. She tells us she loved being a mother more than anything else. After we were grown, she did start working as a sales woman at a few different stores and as a secretary for the City Court House and at the church. Would you believe that she would walk 3 miles to work and home again! Then she would ride a bicycle and finally she learned to drive and got herself a car at the age of um, I think around 40? (I’m trying to go on memory but my memory has always been lousy.)
They're both retired now and doing as well as they can in this unpredictable world.
Growing up in Michigan is something I'm truly grateful for. The 4 seasons each had their own beauty and the people I knew and loved will always be a part of my life.
My siblings are a bit scattered. hehe
Okay, I mean they're scattered around the USA... one in Texas, I'm in New Mexico and the rest are scattered around Michigan...Jackson, Lansing, Lincoln Park, and Westland.
We all keep in touch via Internet or phone calls. No one writes handwritten letters anymore! DO THEY? Well, not to me anyway.
Oh, I'd be negligible if I didn't include a picture though...I am proud to be a part of this clan!

I have a son of my own! He's also a grown man and lives in California. My son is my real pride and joy and there's no one who can take his place in my heart. A picture? Did someone ask to see a picture? Here's a few from my brag book.....

Me and Trevor 2004 (his graduation from x-ray tech school)

Oldies but still favorites...

Sadly, there's family that I've never known. My mothers parents died when she was young. My dads father died before I knew him as well and my dads mother died in 1986. She was the only grandparent I knew and truly wish I could have known them all.
There are cousins and other relatives that I don't know and probably never will. I can only wish one and all the best that life has to offer.
I'm fortunate that my own immediate family is large enough that I'll never be really alone and that they're my friends, too, including their spouses and significant others, (with the exception of a few but I'm not naming names.)
I love them all!
