The
VerHage Romanian Fund started in October, 2000, to support
organizations that benefit the lives of Romanian Children in
need.
Director
Judy VerHage and Assistant Director Michelle Patterson were
friends while volunteering for the Peace Corps in Romania.
They were personally involved with projects that are supported
by the Fund, and wanted to provide ongoing financial assistance
and guidance to these children's programs that are so close
to their hearts.
The
VerHage Romanian Fund strives to ensure the sustainability
of these programs while promoting volunteerism and community
involvement in a country these concepts are underdeveloped.
Funding
sources within Romania are non-existent at this time.
