slave do's and don'ts

Listed below are guidelines for the conduct of slaves. Each Free Person may have their own list to add to this, but these are some of the basics
(***note--- these are based upon Gor@soi and it's sister sights, other chats may have different rules on serving, entering and leaving etc. so try to find out before you enter)

Do's:

Always be pleasing and respectful. Above all else RESPECT must be shown to all Free Persons at all times. While Free Persons are NOT always right, they are by definition, NEVER wrong, therefore slave's DO NOT ARGUE or DEBATE with a Free Person. They do, however, always have the last two words in any discussion ... those being "Yes Master". The only Free Person's word that will over rule Another’s is your Owner's. (ex. Whatever limits that are set by your Owner will always be followed no matter what the other Free Person desires of you.)

 

 Read the room and room rules you enter….. you need to be aware of the type of room you enter and find out if you are at risk of capture, risk of being killed, if you need to beg permission to enter or leave and you should read back the last few posts and get a general idea of what is taking place in the room before entering. (ex. See Whom needs to be served, etc.)

See the the room examples listed at the bottom of the page for more information on general room types.  Know what is going on in the room before posting.
 

beg permission to enter if a Free Person is in the room. The room may be posted as not requiring it and this is becoming more common practice in gor@soi rooms, a Master can be tied up giving permission for slaves to enter and leave so He may just desire to let them enter freely but for example beg to leave ....... pay attention to the room rules to find out what is required before you enter.

 

all gorean slaves speak in third person, never use first person when referring to oneself …. (i.e. no use of, I, me, mine, instead always use terms such as… this girl, Your girl, a slave, she, etc.)                                                                                                                              ~~note here..... some Master/Mistress's are allowing Their slaves use of first person speech now, you might wish to pay attention to the room before entering on how to behave but above all else your Owner's desires are to be followed whatever they may be~~

 

Always greet any Free Person entering with Master/Mistress and wish them well as they depart as long as your not in service to Another at the time. If unsure of the gender use Master. Greeting your sisters/brothers as well is also polite

 

On entering a kajira should go to the serving furs and to offer to serve or be of service within one's abilities and limits, that is what we are here for, to serve and to please the Free Persons.

 

ALL Free Persons whether Gorean natured or not gets the same respect and service. This means even if the Master/Mistress is new to Gor or just wandering through exploring you always treat them the same as if they had been in Gor for a long time and was a respected Gorean Master/Mistress. It makes no difference to you as kajira what their nature is, you are to serve and please All Free Persons and it's not your judgment if they deserve it or not.

 

When in an empty room a kajira can ALWAYS find something to keep herself busy, such as bringing in woods, cleaning furs, etc. Refer to Tavern Chores for suggested ideas.

 

While new and still learning gorean ways, ask permission from your Owner or if uncollared a well respected Free Person before posting in any of the corks, some corks are reserved for Free Person use and some slaves are allowed to post in, you will need to learn which are for slave use before posting.

 

Address Free Persons as Master or Mistress If the sex of the Free person can not

be determined from the name, Master is to be used until the gender is clarified.

Don'ts:

Slaves shall not argue with a Free person at any time. Insolence will not be tolerated by any slave, collared or not. While a Free person may not always be right, they are, by definition, never WRONG.

 

When serving a Free Person, They deserve your undivided attention. Do not multi-task, interrupt the serve to greet O/others, or in any way give Them anything but your full attention. When in service to a Free Person they get 100% of your attention at all times until released to either serve Another or to greet, this includes ICQ messages, private whispers. They are the utmost important Person in your life during the time you are in Their service.

 

Don't get caught up in the playing around in the room, the room/tavern is for the pleasure of the Free Persons not the frolicking of slaves. No Free Person should be neglected if there are slaves present, tend to Their needs first. Free Persons enjoy the gaiety of playful slaves but not at their expense.

 

Do not at any time forget that you are a slave, A slave owns nothing, not even their name. you have nothing not given to you by a Free Person, from your name to your silks to your dancing bells. All items can just as quickly be taken away. Cherish them and guard them well or they may be lost faster then you can blink your eye and may be earned back much harder the second time.

 

NEVER pre-write your serves and copy and paste them, each should be written as done and individualized for the Free Person you are serving. NEVER copy from another slave, read others, learn from them but grow into your own self, your own personality and individual. On occasion certain dances are acceptable pre written but serves never are.

 

Weapons of any sort welded against a Free Person means instant death to a slave unless specifically permitted by your Master for one reason or another, but as a general rule of thumb never touch weapons or anything that may be used as a weapon against a Free Person, it could result in a slave's untimely death.

 

In the servery we use sharp clam shells, sharp rocks, a shard of glass to cut with, or an ulo (curved knife with a wooden handle, used in the books of gor for cutting meat and vegetables). We can use knives, hoes, needles, scissors, and razors as long as we use them for a non-violent purpose. If we use it as a weapon it has become a weapon and it will mean a kajira's death.

 

slaves never touch money unless specifically told to by a Free Person and then are usually carried in a small pouch or their mouth although there are quotes stating coins were carried in hands of the slave as well, but would reserve that to just when told to carry the coins that way. Unless specifically told otherwise always carry coins in your mouth or a pouch.

~~NOTE~~ if you have questions about any of these sights (@soi, @gor, @jag, Outlaws) ask one sisters or  Masters or Mistress's, never wonder ALWAYS get the answers you need, sisters as well as Master's and Mistress's alike are more them willing to help a new learning slave.

~~IMPORTANT EXTRA NOTE HERE~~ @gor recently went through some major changes in it's structure, please read the above link @gor charter, it's a vast change from what it once was.  Once there was a ruling council, that has been disbanded and now areas are split into enclaves, like the Stronghold of Thentis was built, each having their own rules to abide by so slaves should take extra care when entering a room to read the site rules and make themselves familiar with what's expected of a slave while there.

Just because your a slave within the Stronghold of Thentis don't mean the Stronghold of Thentis rules will follow you where ever you go, you have to abide by the site rules, in some extreme cases, although yet to have seen it, even your collar might not be honored there so just becareful sisters.

Some enclaves are guided by a set of principles like the Stronghold of Thentis and guided with Elders chosen among the family/group Master's, others are not, each is allowed to make their own rules as they decide upon them and run their enclave the way they see fit.

you will find the various enclave pages listed as Gorean regions and camps under the chat box in #r-gorcork@gor, it wouldn't be a bad idea to familiarize yourself with these also.
 

Room Examples
read the room descriptions very carefully before entering a new room for the first time, each room will be different and have varying rules these are only general descriptions

(note- remember the rules of a room can change even while you are in it, so attentiveness is required of you at all times while out in public, your Master/Mistress wouldn't be very happy if suddenly He/She lost a slave due to their not paying attention to what was happening within the room and it would also create many headaches for Them, so pay attention even in a room you feel is safe when you enter)

Free Zone or Capture/Kill Room -a slave may be killed actually in any room unless it specifically states a no kill room but certain rooms are designated capture zones. Some offer protection if you wear an Owner's collar, some do not and you must be aware of what that room does and does not offer you for protection. you can enter if given the protection of the room owner or an available Free Person but only if you trust them completely.

Taverns-there are various types of taverns scattered around gor, again read the room rules before entering, they could be a safe haven or a capture/kill zone for you. Free Persons will be expected to be served drinks and food in these places and should be offered as soon as they are greeted and enter.

Sanctuaries- most sanctuaries offer slaves and Free Persons alike a place to sit, relax and converse. Some do not require you offer to serve unless you so desire or are required by your Owner or asked by a Free Person there BUT it is advisable to offer to serve even in sanctuaries, that is the purpose of a slave to serve and please. Again as in any room read the rules before posting to be sure of what's required.

Homes/Lodges/Homestones-these rooms vary widely as well, read the room rules again. they are personal homes for the Free Person and perhaps in some cases may offer a place for a traveler to stay for a night or a few. again you are expected to act as a kajira and offer to serve in the most pleasing way you can.

Corks- some can be freely posted to and some are for only Free Persons, please read the rules of the cork before posting and ALWAYS be respectful to others in them.

#r-gorcork@gor - this is generally a public Free Person's cork, utmost respect must be used when posting here and should only be done so with explicit permission from a slave's Master.... but regardless of your feelings on a certain subject being discussed, slaves should always stay out of the conversations of Free Persons even here unless specifically asked to speak on the subject

#r-aachain@gor -  this is a public slave cork owned by Master Warrior specific for the slaves to discuss problems, leave messages etc.  Remember though, even here respect is required, slanderous posts are not allowed and are grounds for punishment.  Although Free Person's don't frequently post here, even here you must show respect at all times.

#r-forum@soi - This is the Thentis Family private work cork, ongoing work within the family maybe discussed here, you are free to post your thoughts and opinions here, but once again always be respectful.

#r-limits@gor - This is a limits cork for all of Gor, it may be only posted to by Free Persons, a place to post Their slaves limits.

#r-namegame@gor - is a cork for name changes, with so many frequent name changes of slaves in gor sometimes it's hard to keep up with who is who as far as the slaves go, well here one can post their name history or changes.

These are considered standard rules of capture BUT what you have to remember is in a Freezone a Master might even have in His rules it's a one post capture..... if not generally, and this is only generally they go by a 3 post capture rule similar to this:
Rules of capture are as follows, the capturing Master must post 3 times before the slave has posted an attempt to escape once, if a slave posts a fleeing post before all three capture posts are made, the slave is free, if the  Master makes all three posts first, the slave must submit to the capture and serve that Master. Free Women may never capture any slave, they must either purchase a slave or be given one in gift.  Any Free Women found in a capture zone unaccompanied by a Master, shall be deemed a legitimate target of capture and subject to the same rules as an uncollared slave.
