| Thursday, May 31, 2001 Finally! We have outside contributions! Check out Pat Carney's amazing recollection of the famous August 1990 "Last Bawltz," and dig his survey response. There should be some new pics up soon, too. Wednesday, May 30, 2001 I'm trying to add a links page. Whoo hoo, baby. We need to write some new songs or we'll never finish the new album. We've got a handful of great tunes and some real dogs. Feel free to submit lyrics or song ideas. If we don't use them, we'll write you back a nasty e-mail insulting you and your abilities. Tuesday, May 29, 2001 Sunday, May 27 was the 6th anniversary of one of the greatest Cheese shows ever. Amazingly enough, I now find out it was also the 6th anniversary of Andy Pettitte's first start as a Yankee. Weird. I hope you all had a good holiday weekend. Dug's birthday seemed to go well. I only showed up after he was already drunk, and I was drunk too. It worked out well. Get your mind out of the gutter. Wednesday, May 23, 2001 I added a few more pictures last night, and Jeff is actually IN one of them. How about that? I think everyone should buy a copy of "Nilsson Sings Newman" and listen to it on repeat. Seriously. Tomorrow is Bob Dylan's 60th and Dug the Roadie's 29th. Happy birthday boys - no motorcycles. Monday, May 21, 2001 I'm just sitting here listening to the full Salem School '91 show on CD. This is a real slice of Cheese-mania from ten years ago, and what's truly scary is that things haven't changed much. Who knows, dear reader - YOU may have been there! Jeff and I will whip up some art and get this puppy to you ASAP. Or something like that. In the meantime, dig another sample. By the way, if the Yankees lose this series to the Red Sox this week, the diary may get nasty. Thursday, May 17, 2001 Today I found an old, barely labeled cassette tape and threw it in the tape deck. I quickly realized that this was a mix tape I had made about 6 1/2 years ago. It is, in fact, the "Phat Mix for Cheestock," a tape I made to listen to while setting up and breaking down Cheesestock with Jeff, T.J., Pat, Doug, Hal, Scott, etc at Jess Wolk's. Oh baby, the memories. I think we need to get some Cheesestock audio clips on the site soon. This tape is actually pretty hot, too. Good God, I segued Sunday Morning by the Velvet Underground into Tuesday's Gone by Lynyrd Skynyrd. I defy anyone else to segue the Velvets to Skynyrd. Don't take any wooden nickels. -Matt Wednesday, May 16, 2001 Jeff has supplied me with a sample from his digital Real Cheese experiments. It is a hot, slightly ragged, but very enthusiastic rendition of the classic Cocoanuts. This will really whet your appetite for more Cheese from the vaults. Or it will make you shut off your PC in horror. It can be found under "Hawt Rawk Music." I have to go now, to finish reading the Iron Chef book. Dig it. Tuesday, May 15, 2001 I have decided that the website could use some running commentary. Why, you ask? Because I'm bored, that's why. Many of you have asked why there are no pictures of Jeff on the site. (Well, Jeff has asked.) Although there was a rumor going around that Jeff moves too quickly to be captured on standard film, like The Flash, the real reason is that I don't have any good or recent pictures of him. This will be rectified shortly. Frankly, I prefer posting pictures of females--nothing against Jeff. The big news in Cheese-land today is that Jeff is busy preparing the first ever Real Cheese live-from-the-vaults CD. It looks like a show from 1991, but the specific show will be kept under wraps until it's ready to go. Why, you ask, who really gives a shit? Good question--its Salem School, 3/24/91. We'll dig up some extra filler, too, to give you a super hot rock CD experience. Keep your feet on the ground and your head in your hat. -MB |
