Other: _____I would like to attend Regional meetings. _____I would like to attend the International Convention in next spring. _____I would be interested in serving as an officer for the chapter! Possible Postion:_________________________________ ENHANCED MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM Members who choose to become "enhanced" members usually commit to a specific amound of activitiy. Examples include attending a certain amount of meetings, participatin in honors study topic or service projects, or assisting with fundraising. Every program is different; design one that works for your chapter! Keys to Creating an Enhanced Membership Program: Explain the difference between standard and enhanced membership to eligible students during orientations. They should know they are not obligated to be active, but if they choose to do so, a special reward system is in place. Plan to have several levels of participation and several levels of rewards. Chapters usually offer a variety of incentives-from t-shirts to complimentary travel to a regional or international convention! Some members can work toward earning their stoles and tassles for graduation. Check out recognitions.ptk.org for more ideas. Keep your program flexible! Most chapters allow members to change from standard to enhanced or vice versa during a academic year. Dont make enhanced membership seem like a fulltime job. Focus on the fun of fellowship, the joy of service to the community and the many leadership opportunities available! Designate an administrator for the program. This person should have great organizational skills and excellent record keeping abilities. IN many chapters, the recording secretary or the membership committee takes the lead; choose an arrangement that works for your chapter. Members are usually responsible for keeping up with their participation. They can document activities on a monthly report form or checklist and submit it to the program leader. Give them a little peer pressure! Post a list of enhanced members with stars or checks representing their participation, or recognize members achieving a new level at meetings. Consider having a special awards dinner or program for enhanced members. This will show appreciation to those members for their service to the chapter.
