| Hello Phi Theta Kappa,
I have started a Phi Theta Kappa Meet- up group. This is an open forum for any Phi Theta Kappa Member to attend at any time. This will be a monthly event at 6pm on the first Tuesday of every month(next one is October 5th) at the Broadway Cafe at 4106 Broadway in Kansas City Missouri. I would also like to invite you to join the meet-up group at this web site below so I can more easily send out invitations to fellowship events and perhaps get some RSVP's. If anyone is interested in helping please let me know I would greatly appreciate it, and feel free to bring a friend. Thanks [email protected] For more details, see the full event listing: http://phithetakappa.meetup.com/1/events/3243816/ By the way, if you plan to attend, I'd appreciate it if you'd RSVP so I could know how many people might be coming or if I should stay home. you can do this and join the group through this link above If you have further questions, you can email me through the 'Contact Organizer' feature on the meetup.com website: http://phithetakappa.meetup.com/1/suggestion/ Sarah Eiker President of Upsilon Kappa Chapter Kappa Tau Chapter: September 8, 2004 Club Day 10:50 a.m. - 2:15p.m. September 9, 2004 Phone-A-Thon 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. September 11, 2004 Habitat For Humanity 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. September 12, 2004 General Meeting 3:00 p.m. September 12, 2004 Phone-A-Thon 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. September 13, 2004 New Member Orientation 5:00 p.m. September 14, 2004 New Member Orientation 2:00 p.m. September 15, 2004 New Member Orientation 12:30 p.m. September 16, 2004 New Member Orientation 7:30 p.m. September 23, 2004 Voter Registration Drive 9:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. October 3, 2004 Induction 3:00 p.m. in the Education Center Xi Lambda, Pi Kappa, & Xi Epsilon Chapters This comes directly from Laura Steinmann VP of Communications for the Xi Epsilon Chapter at Forest Park Campus in St. Louis and team captain of the Star Gazers: Just wanted to let you in on our update for the North County Relay For Life. It was held on Friday August 6 and Saturday August 7, 2004 at Hazelwood Central High School. I was the team captain. The name of our team was The Star Gazers. This team represented three St. Louis Community Colleges: Forest Park, Meramec, and Florissant Valley. We raised $2,551.00 . The Relay For Life as a whole raised $ 120,000.00. We had 25 team members and had 2 teams (Star Gazers 1 and Star Gazers 2). We also won an award for the Team with The Most Spirit. You would have been proud of our team spirit and commarderie. It was an excellent service project and fellowship project. It brought us together as a group. It also gave us an awareness of what it is like to battle cancer and meet the heroes of the disease. The love and support was awesome for the survivors. It was a very special night ! I am grateful to be a part of such an outstanding organization and some highly motivated PTK members who step up to the plate for an important cause like finding a cure for cancer. forgot to tell you how many hours I worked on this project North County Relay For Life. This is an estimate about 128 hours. I worked on it every day from about April to August 6 about an hour a day. Laura is also a mother of a cancer survior a daughter. Way to go guys you did a terrific job! continued on page 16 |
