| Regional Happenings: Alpha Psi Tau Chapter Well I have heard from one chapter on their results with Relay For Life. This comes from Alpha Psi Tau Chapter, and they are rightfully proud of thier accomplishments. The news was submitted by our own Rhonda Perkins, "I am very proud to say that our Relay for Life was held weekend before last and our team raised over $6,000.00 dollars and we also won the award for our campsite (for the third year in a row). I am very proud of my chapter." Also it was reported from Jo Fritts, that they made Gold Team in Springfield for this event!! Our campsite also won the Best Campsite award with our Season of Hope theme. We had moving lighted reindeer, a lighted Christmas tree and our own Father Healing who let everyone sit on his lap for pictures. We sold old fashion Wassail and caramel apples along with T-shirts, tree ornaments and other nick-knacks. Dr. Taylor was our big fund raiser, she raised over $2000 on her ownWay to go Shelia. Anyway, we have started discussing plans for next years event and hope next year to once again be a Gold Teambut we would really like to be a Diamond one. WOW GREAT JOB GUYS!!! Upsilon Kappa Chapter Our Relay for Life was a big success as well as our Project Graduation!! Sarah Eiker Kansas/Missouri Regional Picnic in April Well as promised I finally have the information needed to fill in the blanks for what a wonderful day we had at the Kansas/Missouri Regional Picnic. Now please be aware that the list of names of the attendees that went may not be complete. I have heard that not everyone signed the papers that day. So if you did attend, and you don't see your name there, please let me know immediately and I will add your name. Also the list of names was faxed to me, and the lettering was a bit blurred. If you name is mispelled please let me know as well. The day was gorgeous but very windy. I think if one went to actually go fly a kite, that the winds would have picked you up and carried you off to a land "far far away." Sorry I know bad pun, considering the picnic was actually in Kansas, and that I've just gotten back from watching the Shrek movie! Which by the way if you haven't seen it, you are really missing a lot of good laughs, and pure fun for all. Anyway back to the picnic...the Kansas Region hosted the picnic, and it was filled with laughter, great food, jokes, sharing ideas about past events and future events, names were swapped along with e-mail addresses, and a great deal of good old fashioned fellowship followed throughout the day. It was held by the lake in Shawnee (I think), and the winds off the water kept the area breezy, cool, and very nice for the entire day. The kids had fun playing down by the waters edge, playing vollyball, frisbee, catch, and all kinds of other games. Those in attendance, along with the names of their colleges, are as follows: Leslie Lendeen (Butler), Jeff Lendeen (Butler), Susan Forrest (Butler), Teressa Sliger (Butler), Lisa Bachtle (JCCC), Dorie Lutz (JCCC), Laura Haverkamp (JCCC), Merry Pettijohn (JCCC), Zetter Berger (JCCC), Jame Donham (JCCC), Carl Hoehn (JCCC), Beth Blandin (JCCC), Jan Meed-Moeharg (BCCC), Lois Robbins (LVCC), John Meeks (LVCC), Ed Wheeler (LVCC) with wife, and three children, Billy Higgins (JCCC), Margaret Berter (LVCC), Charon Wade (SCCC), Shawn Arbogast (SCCC), Amanda Maness (St.Charles CC), Gina Giangalanti (Maple Woods CC), Leah Evans (JCCC), Sally Copeland (Advisor-JCCC), and Sandra Diehl (LVCC). I believe that our own Regional President was there Amber Gruenloh (ECCC), as well as Kim Jarquio (LVCC) and her guest. |
