Behavior
Expectations
Within the first few days of school we will work together to create our classroom constitution. We will talk about how to make our classroom a place where we all feel safe to be ourselves and where we can learn our best. After our promise is created I will post it below.
Our Classroom Constitution!
Consequences For Poor Choices...

When a student chooses not to meet expectations, they also choose to have a consequence. In most cases the child will practice the correct choice. For example, if they are not following hallway expectations, then we will practice walking in the hallway on their valued time. In situations where a child poses a threat to another child's safety they will be immediately removed from the classroom and Mr. Smith and myself will handle the situation. You will be contacted regarding any severe behavior issues or those issues which are not improving after repeated efforts. You will have a daily record of your child's behavior in their
FROG folder under the section labeled: behavior calendar.
Good Choices are always rewarded!

Each month students will receive a new behavior calendar in their
FROG folder. We will set a goal for recognizing individual good behavior. For example, in September we may decide that every student who has at least 20 stamps will have a special treat a snack time. This calendar can help you monitor your child's behavior as well. I will stamp the calendar for every good day. If there it wasn't a good day there will be a note regarding why.
We will also work on team and class goals. This will be done many ways! The class might be working towards a no homework week or an extra recess, etc.
