Frequently Asked Questions
The cosmos, the secrets of the universe, unknown even to Miss Marroo.
No unfortunately, Miss Marroo doesn't know the meaning of it all. So please stop asking. But questions (and answers) about her Task can be found here.
Q-What is going on here?

A-Excellent question, Gentle Reader. This is Miss Marroo's web site, where she gets to do pretty much as she pleases. As explained on the homepage, Miss Marroo has a goal to read all the Classical Works of Literature. She reviews the Work for your enjoyment (or perhaps consternation), and for the purpose of being a Critical Thinker, which she aspires to be, as opposed to a Sponge, who soaks up information but has no discernable function. Miss Marroo detests the purposeless existence that is a Sponge, and after she reads a good book, she like to think it over instead of immediately clearing it from her mind, thus rendering the point of reading the book entirely moot. Alas, Miss Marroo's Contemporaries have little interest in the Classical Works of Literature, so she has turned to the great Tool that is the World Wide Web to hold court over her own little book club of one.

Q-Why should I care?

A-Another excellent question. In all honesty, I cannot say. Miss Marro knows why she is here, only you can answer why
you are here. But since you are reading this, let Miss Marroo tell you that she enjoys writing, and she's heard the best way to improve writing is to write and write often. Although Miss Marroo is Smarter Than the Average Bear, she feels there is always room for improvement, which is one reason she has undertaken her Task. Designing a web page strictly to showcase her diatribes may be hubris (feel free to tell her so here), but it might be entertaining as well, so if you've got the time and the inclination, please peruse the offerings.

Q-
All Classical Works of Literature?!?! Are you mad?!?!

A-Philisophical answer- Can anyone truely say whether or not they are insane? Isn't insanity relative? Realistic answer- Probably. It may be too large of an undertaking for a person to read the Classical Works of Literature in one lifetime. The practical part of Miss Marroo realizes this and is aware of the likelihood of failure she faces, but she is operating on the notion that Hey, They're Called Classics For A Reason, and is conscious that she has chosen a difficult task. Even if Miss Marro only reads
some of the Classical Works of Literature, she feels she will be a better person for having read them. Besides, it is always good to have a goal, however unattainable.

Q-You sound like you have a lot of free time on your hands.

A-Rest assured, Gentle reader, Miss Marroo leads a busy life. Please read more about her on the
About Miss Marroo page.

Q-How often do you plan on updating this thing anyway?

A-Miss Marroo has a goal to read about one Classical Work of Literature a week, so that is approximately how often she will update. However, she cautions readers to be aware that her reading and writing schedule will depend on other parts of her life (see above question please) so once a week is a target, not an absolute.

Q-What is the definition of a Classic?

A-Miss Marroo defining Classic as a Work that is famous, or is by an esteemed author. Older Works will be easy to define because they have withstood the test of time. More recent Works will be harder to classify, and Miss Marroo is aware that the choosing of Classical Works of Literature is a very subjective matter.
Sing with me now! She's got the whole world in her hands, she's got the whole wide world in her hands...
Miss Marroo also knows that history has overlooked much of the important work done by women and minorities. She will do her best to do a proper survey of all Literature, not just the stuff by Old, Dead, White Guys. She does need your help forming her list, so if you feel there is something she has missed, please email Miss Marroo at [email protected].

Q-
World Famous?

A-The title is meant to be prophetic, not descriptive. And who knows, Miss Marro may one day be world famous. You'll have to stick around and see.
