II.  Planning and Designing Learning Environments and Experiments

II-E. Plan strategies to manage student learning in a technology-enhanced environment.

Evidences:
Mini-Lesson on searching the internet.

Small group lesson that utilizes PowerPoint.

Reflection:
The two lesson plans shared above focus on two very different uses of technology in the classroom.  The first one is very student based, as students must find and publish their own information.  The second lesson is much more teacher based, as I created the PowerPoint presentation.  Both lessons, however, show clear instances of managing student learning.  The management of student learning when using technology is not just important, it is vital.  Most students will not and cannot learn in an environment that is not structured or instructional; this is true in any learning situation.  When working with technology, it is especially important for teachers to have a structured plan to ensure safety for the students and for the equipment.  Technology is an excellent resource to aid in teaching, but it is also an excellent resource as the vehicle for teaching.
