III. Teaching, Learning, and the Curriculum

III-D. Manage student learning activities in a technology-enhanced environment.

Evidence:

Reflection:
As a beginning teacher, I have found that student management is one of the areas that I must work the hardest.  I have also discovered that managing lessons that involve technology is more difficult than "regular" lessons because the students become more excited than usual.  One strategy that seems to work quite well for me is small group lessons.  While it may not always be possible in all classrooms,  I like removing the small group to a quiet location.  I feel that each child receives more individual attention, and that the students work as a cohesive group much better when completely separated from the other students.  For instance, with this lesson I took five small groups to the library individually.  The remaining students worked in their EOG practice books with my cooperating teacher.  Due to the small group atmosphere, I feel that each student really had a chance to be involved with the Power Point and that each child was focused on the lesson.
