Strategies for Integrating Technology into My Classroom
1. Place computers in a place easily accessible by children.
2. Place Active Board and Active Board computer in the area within which I give the most instruction.
3. Integrate technology into as many lessons as possible.
4. Designate some lessons as instructional lessons -- such as "How To Search the Internet Safely."
5. Develop contracts that the students and their parents much
sign that outlines acceptable computer and internet behavior.
6. Monitor all internet usage!
7. Teach students how to use office programs, such as Excel,
Word, and Access by making them relevant to our current lesson.
8. Teach students the basics of website building and allow them to update our class website.
9. Acquire new technologies regularly.
10. Incorporate digital cameras, camcorders, and tape recorders in new and fun ways.
11. Encourage students to use technology as a method to learn
about what they are interested in! A student in band may really
be interested in creating music by using the Garage Band program, while
an artsy student may flourish in Micosoft Paint. 12. Use
technology to individualize instruction!!!
