Reflection:
By the end of Kindergarten, most students can correctly define the term
"cheating." Using information from the internet without citing it
is simply another form of cheating, and students will easily understand
that. It is important for teachers to teach children why we
consider this so, and also to teach children how to correctly reference
all bodies of information used. We cannot hold children
accountable for plagiarizing unless we define what it is and share ways
to avoid it. Even the youngest students should learn to cite
their sources.
