Outdoor Learning Time will consist of many different activities. Some days we will use the playground area to play whole group games together. Some days we will use the benches in the courtyard to hear stories, put on a reader's theater production, or to complete a science experiment. If the weather does not allow us to go outside, we will complete the activities in the classroom or have a second opportunity to participate in Open Centers. |

Handwriting and fine motor development are very important to our daily schedule. This is another time to reinforce letter/sound knowledge and to practice making the letters. We will be using the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum which provides students with opportunities to build the letters using wood blocks before writing. |

Our Math curriculum is Investigating Investigations. For some math lessons, students may be in a whole group setting and for other lessons students may work in a small group setting. After the main lesson is taught, students will move into a time of math centers to reinforce the skills which are being taught. Here students will work independently or with one other student to explore and expand their mathematical thinking. Centers may include: exploring pattern blocks, exploring shapes, exploring colors, exploring sizes, making pattersn, numbers, counting, addition, order, etc. |
