The abbreviated version of The Screamers and The Mage by Kristi Muise Timeline (tentative) 9,000 BC-The war of the gods comes to a stand still the light have upper hand and send the dark ones to torment and be tormented, this twists their souls into evil beings. 4,000 BC-The war between man and fey end. 3,000 BC- Kerigwen is born. There are members in the Magi, in high and low positions alike all through out the world. 2,000 BC-The Magi is breaking into factions. Keltyr the Magus and Kerigwen the fey meet as Keltyr carries a message. (The basic story line revolves around this Magi rebelling, but that is mostly the back bone of the story, so I dont go into much detail here about it since it is just a story for the story about how the Mirosh came into being to revolve around. And thats the interesting part everyone needs and wants to know anyways.) In The Beginning Everything was balanced, existence was balanced btwn substantial and insubstantial, light and dark, spirit and material (flesh) Then some beings found they lived better in a certain place, one they favored, better if they chose one side of the scale, balance split into factions that couldnt agree. These disagreements turned into what people will call the wars of the gods. But in truth, the war will never ended, but individuals, and groups of similar individuals left it, and changed existence. Those who preferred the light would be called angels, those who preferred the dark, demons, those who stayed in peace with the balance, Fey, and the children born after the war began, unable to be on either side until they understand, humans. o In all of these factions, there are yet more separations The fey split into those wicked (Unseelie Court), those that are good (Seelie Court), and those that are neither.(And Solitaries that are diverse in the same way) Those split even more, into brownies, faeries, etc. Wicked Fey start warring with the children of the earth (humans), because the first fey could predict the future and knew humans would develop the ability to wipe them out, and out of jealousy of their material forms and physical feelings, whereas good fey just decided to keep their privacy so that no one knew about them and thus couldnt kill them. (As fey feelings must be so intense for fey to enjoy them, that if humans were to experience it, it would be so intense it might be called pain.) Intro From a high standing group of fey, one of the men asks Kerigwen is she will accompany them to the faery ring dance happening that night, and she said she would love to but had made plans to visit the local fool in hopes that he had forgotten to leave her out a gift of food so that she would be allowed to enter his home and read his writings about things. The faeries make fun of her and say she is as bad as a common boggart, so she hurries away upset, to talk to her screamers. One Kerigwen is upset and is going straight towards the boys in her fey realm, and through a rift in the two realms caused by her emotion and 2 boys see something and one impulsively throws a spear. The two boys accidentally spear the Kerigwen while hunting in the woods, using their dad or grandpas spears with silver (and spell?) on them. She crashes into the trees behind them scaring them away along with a sudden storm. Her spriggans (ugly body guards of fey nobility-a Kerigwen is a princess fey) hide in the shadows reaching for the boys as they run home. Two Kerigwen hit and dying (or at least unconscious) found by Keltyr apprentice magus (Mage) on his way to deliver a message to a faction of Magi against some rebels, Kerigwen is trapped in a human form Three Kerigwen owes Keltyr a boon and Keltyr wants her magic, she says she cant teach him that so he can decide what he wants so he is stuck with her till he does. She goes to the Seelie court? She tells Keltyr about her and how she was born to mortal family. In the mean time Kerigwen feels obligated to teach him what magic she can. (Mostly songs, elemental, herbal, spiritual/astral, but not innate-which has most power but is least understood). They end up falling in love on their long journey. Four Kerigwens familiars, 2 screamers that mate for life (forever), follow her in a form undetectable to her human self. (Energy/mental). Five Rebel Magi (There are 43) know there is a war between the factions impending, and know there is probably a plan forming and thus messengers btwn orders and thus are wanting to intercept the messengers, are in a traveling caravan. Six A vampyre cult (There are around 50) desires an energy being (like sun is energy) to increase their powers and hopefully walk in daylight again. They cant tell Kerigwen is a faery. Seven A shaman makes an agreement with the vampyres that he will capture a fey creature for the vampyres if they will protect them and not kill any more people. Eight Kerigwens screamers warn her of others (vampyres and Magi) with evil intent on the plains and when they do they emit a banshee like sound along with magic and alert the vampyres and the Magi to their presence. The vampyres make plans to capture them and tell the shaman to also as back up. The Magi are curious and wary of other presences now, but are occupied tracking Kerigwen and Keltyr and find the trail leads them to the apparent source of the screamers. Nine Kerigwen tells her screamers to no longer reveal themselves to her or anyone. Later they run across the village and shaman. The shaman tells her there is a spell on her and Kerigwen tells him if he can remove it she will grant him a boon. (She thinks it was a spell on the spear that keeps her in human form). She tells him she used to be Fey and has powers still, the shaman is a good man and Kerigwen can tell (she cant read minds but she can interpret well what vibes they give off.) So she tells him about her and he figures he could get the screamers as a boon. Ten Kerigwen and Keltyr and the screamers are leaving the shamans village and are attacked in the night by the vampyre cult in the night and are being tracked by the Magi. The vampyres bite Keltyr and leave him when they Kerigwen uses her magic to fight them, that and something else, an odd air about her, draws them to her and they sense the screamers and the screamers flee at Kerigwens command into her mouth (safety-since the vampyres wont sense them there as they already think Kerigwen is odd). The screamers havent physical substance so they can fit. Eleven The Magi fid Keltyr half dead and comatose and try to revive him to find out what message he was carrying (because its memorized duh). But they cant even with the use of all their spells and have heard rumors of vampyres in their short stay at the shamans village. And in greed and curiosity they seek out the vampyres and keep Keltyr as prisoner. Twelve The vampyres question Kerigwen and she tells them she was a fey (a mental battle?), and the story behind her human form. The vampyres tell her the story of their making, (In battle of light and dark, lovers and families were separated. A woman was born human after the wars started, and fell in love with a demon. After the war came to a stand still her lover was sent to be tormented and she didnt want to be separated by him. The rule was that she could go where she pleased after she died, and so killed herself so she could be with him. He loved her so much he used all his magic to keep her alive, and jumped into her dying body to keep her alive, but she died anyway, and he had to die as well for demons couldnt use their powers for such a purpose and not suffer. But there was a living body left that was devoid of blood and had demon magic and will. She had no name and was called only Vampyre. The soul of the man and woman went to a good place of their minds creation (heaven?)) Then the vampyres tell Kerigwen how they miss the sun and light, because even moonbeams burn their skin. They arent entirely sure how to use Kerigwen, but decide to turn her and drink her blood. They do so as a group and she screams and tells her screamers to flee using her mind. And she blocks her location from them; she sends them to Keltyr of the shaman or safety. The vampyres know about it as she does this, but they think Kerigwen is what they needed anyway (, but just in case a new vampyre is sent to keep track of them?). Kerigwens fey spirit breaks free of its mortal body, but will from now on assume a usually material form, this one, though she can alter it at will or become insubstantial. This is where she becomes Gwenn. Thirteen The Magi felt Kerigwen break free and tracked her by the power raging around her, and they find the vampyres den after 3 days, in this time, Kerigwen turned, and the vampyres sent her out in the sun to find it was successful. They get there and see a chained (by magic and metal) Kerigwen and the vampyres feeding on her and the vampyres are in a feeding frenzy when they enter and attack the Magi, and both their numbers are decimated as each fight w/ a strong force the other is unfamiliar with. Fourteen A master vampyre (her vampyric father) and 3 older vampyres remain, and 5 or 2 Magi remain when the screamers come in as roaring dragons (they had promised the shaman protection if he told them where the vampyre lair was) having raced towards Kerigwen sensing her diminishing life force through their bond with her despite her continuous blocking of them from her mind. The fighting stops and they free Kerigwen who is half mad as she rips off a remaining vampyres head and drains him, then is revived and ready to kill everyone when her mind opens to her screamers and she senses Keltyr discarded in a corner with his life force soon to leave his body. She picks him up and calls to her screamers to follow her. Fifteen The remaining vampyres and rebel Magi call a truce (Magi are good at this) and they all disappear and are never see Kerigwen again. So it is unknown if they could walk in the light or if it could be passed on to vampyres they created and so on. (Actually in a later story, Gwenn meets them again and they could walk in the light, but most of the vampyres the will create cant. The vampyres had been evil and bloodthirsty but Kerigwens blood instilled them with her desire for knowledge as well as her mellower traits. And the Magi agree to help the vampyres acquire knowledge for immortality, the Magi never become vampyres, but use vampyric blood in a formula for a long life. This group of Magi will become reincorporated into the first Magi order in the future and become the Leaders; they will recruit Keltyr to help them achieve this. ) Sixteen Kerigwen carries Keltyr at high speed until she gets to the outside of the town Keltyr was traveling to deliver his message. She cries over him (in a tree) and the tears from her face run down through some wounds on her face, and she is nuzzling his wounded neck so that her blood tear mixture touches it and this lasted for a while she confesses her love and how she feels guilty for all that has befallen him. He mumbles that it is his fault. Shocked she kisses him and sees blood smeared on his smoothly healed neck and feels her cheek, which is wet and sticky but also whole again. She realizes what has happened and informs him of al that has passed. He ponders this until she asks how it could be his fault since every one that caused it was after her and her screamers. He tells her about the Magi, what they do and who they are, and how his only purpose in life had been to become a master Magus, and he was using her and her magic as just another stepping stone. She of course is hurt that all they had been through had meant nothing to him, that she was just a creature for him to use to achieve his goals. Her pain fades her into less than mist, an involuntary, self-preservation tact. He calls out to her to come back, that it only began as that, but that he really cares for her. He cant get her to return, and then he remembers his boon and tells her that he knows what he wants, and he asks her to forgive him. She does (she has to, though maybe not because she is still bound to). Seventeen Kerigwen and Keltyr decide he should finish delivering his message and inform them of what went on in the desert. From there they begin their journey back to the forest of the Kerigwen, and get closer as they discover their vampyre powers. The screamers feel disconnected from Kerigwen because a part of her mind is still separated from them, but their fondness for Keltyr grows. They stop by the shamans village on their way through and Gwenn offers him a boon for the lifted spell, but he tells her that the spell was on her from her father, not a spear, and she says her fey queen father or mortal father who had no magic, and he tells her neither, that it is a man, her soul father, that is about 6,000 years yet to be born, and thats all the shaman can tell her, other than her soul is old and new. {In the future, Gwenn, then called Anglythis Valideruth, is the only one on the planet (humans and fey have traveled from the earth, though it is still the home planet, Anglythiss planet is one that circles the star Arcturus) without a developed power-like an X-men future everyone has a power and uses more of their brain-but Anglythis can only remember things she never could have known. She has the knowledge of everything that happened to humans and everything that could have happened. And her father and mother with the help of a historian and a philosopher, both Magi, tell them about something that never should have happened (a big mystery) and so Gwenns father with a talent for altering probability casts a spell on her and her mother sends her back to the first time her spirit manifested itself in an human body, since they dont know when it happened. Mirosh is created after certain events occur.}<-another story. Eighteen Kerigwen and Keltyr get back to the forest and take their time. Nineteen When they reach the screamers lake, Kerigwen silently decides to simply return to being fey and continue on as she had been and Keltyr plans on going back to his home with the Magi order and seeing if he could continue on, and hopes to get a higher place. But both know deep down things have changed more than they could ever comprehend. Kerigwen takes Keltyr with her to the Seelie Court to tell them what happened and the fey man that was interested in Kerigwen gets all upset and gets mean to them both, and Kerigwen finds she cant stay in the court because she is more different than she had been before. Twenty Kerigwen is allowed to stay in her forest as a solitary faery, and she returns with Keltyr to her screamers lake and asks him to join her in a swim with her, she secretly wishes for him to ask her to accompany him but is afraid to ask because she still feels guilty about their last journey together. But Keltyr is consumed by his worry over what he will do and declines the invitation and said he was just going to be on his way, and as he turns to leave, the screamers leave their pond and circle the air around him, he pauses and looks back as the screamers return to swirl around Kerigwen, and impulsively he reaches out his hand and asks her if she would like to continue on with him, and its this intensely emotional moment as you realize what kind of finality her answer will hold, and she drifts towards him with her hand outstretched. The End (really, The beginning) Some Details Screamers take on Dragon, dolphin or shark, (sea) serpent, or cat-like form. Changes with environment and emotions. Kerigwen is psychic, but not in a solid way, more in a good guess from vibes and attitude kind of way. o Magi and Fey can control minds, but do so subtly, usually only wicked fey will ever be harsh about it o Vampyres can control minds, but usually do so harshly, and its more of a rape of the mind. The vampyre cult was not the only existing vampyres. The Queen of the fey impregnated Kerigwens mortal mother, Kerigwen born fey to native family, 7th daughter, different, put to sacrifice to dragons (parents to her screamers, fey creatures) at young age, taken by fey and raised to be completely fey but is always different in her interest in the past and future. Magi factions o First Order (traditional) wants to retain their compact and keep their identity secret. o The rebels, or wizards? Want more fey freedom, to reveal themselves to the world with a united world government that they head. |
