Award
winning performer, writer producer of TV dramas and programmes, Vadi PVSS
is also a performer, writer director of the stage. He has been in the
stage scene since 1988 and has never looked back ever since. Vadi holds
a Masters in Creative Industries (Drama Teaching) from the Queensland
University of Technology. He is a National Arts Council Theatre Bursary
Award Receipient for 2004/05. Vadi is also an avid theatre educator, having
done numerous workshops for students throughout the island. The plays
he has directed in Tamil includes ‘Macbeth’ , ‘Suvargalukkul
Theerpu’ and ‘Puyalagal’—the latter play having
been re-staged for Youth Theatre Festival orgainsed by the National Arts
Council in 1991. His work on Indian Theatre was published in the NAC millennium
Coffee Table book entitled “SELVES”. He has presented papers
on Indian theatre in several forums in Singapore and has presented lectures
in India too.
