![]() It's summer! It's the perfect time for fun and adventure. If you're heading far off the beaten track, your travel can be a nightmare without precautions. Here are some basic travel advice for adventure travelers:
Another handy thing to take along is a 50 or 75-watt 220V bulb which you can switch for the 5-watt bulb some cheap hostels provide your room with - in an attempt to save on their electric bill. Take along power outlet adaptors (round to flat, etc.) so you can use your radio, charge your batteries, etc., in your room -- no matter what kind of wall outlet you find in it. . When you take photos of people, take down their names and addresses, and PLEASE PLEASE do not fail to send them a copy of their photo as you promise them you would. Bring your own bottled water (a reputable brand with an intact serrated seal) -- a sufficient supply if you plan to go to a "not-so-urbanized" area such as the mountains.
Don't forget to bring an insect repellant, sunscreen, and chapstick.
