The internet as a racist space

Currently there are many human rights laws that protect minorities, races, religions, and many others from being discriminated against. To find out more on human rights laws in the United states click on the following picture:

With current United States laws we cannot threaten anyone personally without facing issues with the law. An answer to why people go on the internet and act racist would be simple, because they can get away with it. There are no laws that prohibit anyone from saying anything on the internet. Another reason why people go on the internet is that they can hide their identity and be "anonymous", no one would ever find out that they are racist if they want other people to find out.
In the real world many people are afraid to express their racist feelings because they do not feel they will have support or they might also think that they will be looked at differently from their co-workers, friends or families. As mentioned before in the past the ways to distribute information on racism was limited and more difficult. If someone wanted to show their support for racist views and passes out flyers, the people that would actually get those flyers would be limited. This leads to another reason why people act racist on the internet, they can get their views out to millions and millions of people. There are blogs and endless websites to act racist.
Below are a few sites to visit to get better examples of blogs.
