This is the message Robyn sent to Minis4NZ on 30 November 2001 about the Christmas Roombox she made. The members from the first Group Exchange had donated the miniature makings of a great Christmas Dinner.

"This morning I took the roombox to work with me. After careful consideration I secured it onto our reception desk with a stainless steel luggage lock. The back of the box being only visible to the ward clerk who has taken on the task of being in charge of the Christmas tree lights (the control switch is at the back of the box).

The first patient to see it, a 10 year old girl thought it was  "soooo coool". She stood there for a good 12 minutes gazing in and listed every article of food and then asked "why wasn't hospital food that good?"  Well, of course, I couldn't answer that.

The drunk Santa sitting in the corner has been a big hit. As it's on the front desk all visitors to the ward see it too. The comments have been amazing and even the Clinical Director Of Child Health came and tracked me down to tell me how amazed she was and how lovely it was.

So ladies thank you once again. Today has been a magical day and the box has given so much joy to everyone on the ward.

Regards Robyn in Wellington"
