The Basics:

There are two major steps to take if you wish to go to canada to study at a university of college.


First, you must be accepted in a program of study, by a recognized canadian institution.


Second, you must apply for and be granted a study permit and termporary resident visa by the Canadian High Commission .


Together, these two procedures take onsiderable time. you should apply to your school of choice on eyear in advance of when u wish to begin study in canada; for the stuyd permit, at least three onths before the classes start.


How To Apply- Study Permit And Visa Requirements:


Persons wishing to study in Canada reqire a temporary resident visa and a study permit. Every temporary resident is required to obtain a visa and a study permit before appearing at a port of entry. Kits are available at the Canadian High commission in islamabad or the Canadian consulates in Karachi or lahore, of from citizenshipt and immigration Canada's Website (www.cic.gc.ca). Application forms must be submitted to the Hight Comission in Uslamabad, by courirer or mail. Application for a stuyd permit will be considered once an applicant has produced evidence that he/she has been accepted in .

Documents required with an application for a study permit:

 

1. The application must be received by the canadian high commission no ess than 28 dayfore the start of classes.


2. The application form must be completely and accurately filled out, including the Family composition form


3. the correct fee must be paid.


4. Original letter of acceptance from the educatinal institution in Canada.


5. receipts showing tuitioin fees paid in full for the first two semesters of your program, even if it is not required by your school


6. proof of your english language ability (TOEFL or IELTS results), even if it not requried by your school.


7. Proof of sufficient funds equivalent to Canadian $10,000 (e.ge current bank statements, scholarships, band statemnets of sponsors)

 

8. Police certificate from all jurisdictions in which you have resided since the age of 18 years.

 

9. all previous educational documents.

 

10. proof of employment for yourself or your parents incase the parents are supporting you.


11. original valid passport.


12. If you will be attending an educational institution in a province of Quebec, you must provide a CAQ ( certicicate d'acception du Quebec) from the government of Quebec (see) http://immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/anglais/immigration/students/step.html

 

13. Two recent passport sized photographs.

 

14. Evidence of immigration status of your relatives living in Canada, such as a copy of their Record of Landing form ( IMM 1000), Permenant Residence card or Canadian Citizenship Card.

 

Applicants will be notified if an interview is required. Successful candidate will be required to undergo a medical examination performed by a physician designated by the Canadian High Commission.
