1999 Formula One Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka

Jordan's Heinz-Harald Frentzen finished 4th in the race to clinch third place in both the Driver's and Constructor's Titles. This was the last Formula One race for his teammate Damon Hill, who had announced his retirement earlier this year. Unfortunately for Hill, he went off course at Spoon Curve, and voluntarily retired from the race soon after. With Honda's full commitment to Formula One and the BAR team, it will be interesting to see where Jordan/Honda will end up next year...
1997 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve

Unfortunately for Jacques Villeneuve and teammate Ricardo Zonta, the BAR (British American Racing) team did not score any points this year. With boss Adrian Reynard (whose chassis dominate CART) and Honda partnering with him next year, the BAR team is full of potential. However, Williams is partnering with BMW who have managed to win 24 hours of LeMans only on their second try. Don't expect McLaren/Mercedes to sit still either, as they have the best aerodynamicist in the business in Adrian Newey, and the best driver when under pressure in Hakkinen. Ferrari, of course, will be in the hunt again with Schumacher. Jackie Stewart's team, now Jaguar, should also be competitive. Have these teams achieved "parity?" The 2000 season may become one of the most competitive ever in Formula One - I'm looking forward to it!
