TIGHTER, FLATTER ABS As a fitness instructor and personal trainer I often get asked " How do I get a flatter tummy? Can you give me some exercises to help?" Answer. There are hundreds of gyms, and health clubs in this country today. More people are "exercising" today than ever before. There are countless personal trainers, exercise magazines, books, and TV shows. All of this has resulted in about a million variations of the "crunch." Any fitness professional that has been in the industry long enough has undoubtedly encountered that client who "works out" regularly and has seen little progress for months! Yet, despite all of this "exercise," the average client remains less than satisfied with the results or lack there of. This can only mean one thing... IT MEANS MORE THAN EXERCISE! IF IT WERE AS SIMPLE AS EXERCISE, ALL WOMEN WOULD HAVE FLAT TUMMIES, AND ALL MEN WOULD HAVE 6-PACKS! You cannot reduce fat in areas of your choice. It has to be a slow gradual all over process and becoming leaner is simply a by-product of achieving optimal health. Achieving optimal health begins with one frequently overlooked area in fitness: NUTRITION. We all need a full spectrum of nutrients. Even obese people can be MALNOURISHED. Overweight people can be literally starving for the right kinds of foods and nutrients to satisfy their hunger and NORMALISE THEIR METABOLISM. There are a few other items to consider here. Maintaining a healthy DIGESTIVE SYSTEM IS CRITICAL. So much of the processed over-carbed convenience "food" is causing serious digestive dysfunction by way of food allergies and chronic inflammation of the gut in many people. Few people drink enough WATER to support a healthy body. 8 glasses a day is the recommended requirement. According to experts when digestive health is waning, it makes burning fat very difficult.. Posture can play a vital role in accentuating the �pot belly� as a weak lower spine can allow the Abdominals to remain slack and rounded. So you see, nutrition, digestive health and correct posture all have their part to play and need to be taken seriously when embarking on the tummy flattening mission, only then will the exercise regime work for you. ...................................................................................................................................... |
