Thought of the month! The Truth about Dieting I thought this would be a perfect time to share some wisdom with those looking for the magic cure or diet strategy. I have worked with thousands of individuals on their diet and exercise programmes. I am constantly asked, "What are the secrets to weight loss?" The popular media, diet books and fitness magazines make the concept of weight control appear to be a mystification under the whimsical control and folly of sprites, gremlins or celebrities.  As those of you who know me at all will be aware  I dont believe in diets- they DONT WORK! I thought I would take this opportunity, to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so if you are reading the latest copy  of "Eat Right for Your Hairstyle", listen up .
To control weight for a lifetime:
Don't eat more calories than you burn. To lose weight, burn more calories than you eat!.
The saying "You are what you eat" is true. Before eating a food, ask yourself "Do I want to BE that?!?". If certain foods haunt you and you cannot eat them sensibly, consider giving them up.
Eat s lowly. This will give your body the opportunity to sense the food coming in and register fullness. Dont confuse hunger with thirst.
Dessert is a habit, not a physiological need for survival. Habits can be broken.
Ultimately if you want to eat whatever you want, then you have two choices:
                1. Move a lot more. or  2.Gain weight and stop complaining !

TRAINERS.
Lastly, dont forget to check your trainers! If the tread is worn you need a new pair!  Remember, supportive, comfortable footwear will keep your joints and muscles safe and allow you to workout more effectively.
