WORK WORK WORK

As of the beginning of May, 1998, I began working for a great company as their Sales Projects Coordinator (now go figure THAT title out!).

Basically, I work in the Marketing and Sales dept, doing primarily new product development at this time, but also get involved in cost cutting, developing our showroom at the Dallas Trade Mart, analyzing and developing new markets, direct mailings, and even website development (just wait, our new corporate site WILL be up....some day).

The place I work for is a manufacturer and assembler of decorative fluorescent light fixtures for kitchens and bathrooms that we market primarily through lighting showrooms and electrical distributors to the residential construction and remodeling industries for retrofit and new construction. We also market to the commercial/industrial lighting markets, to the hotel & motel industry, and to major retailers such as Home Depot, Menards, Loews, TruValue, Ace, Sears, and others.

Our office is located about a hour north of Chicago, a couple miles just south of the Illinois/Wisconsin border.

Like so many other workers of the 90's, I do NOT have an office, just a cubicle in an open air office. I'm a kindred spirit to Dilbert cartoons in more ways than one!
