| Welcome to our site! What is gaelic football? Gaelic football is an Irish sport that can most easily be described as a cross between soccer and rugby. For a more detailed description, click here. Who are we? The Milwaukee Gaelic Football Club is a new club, just formed last fall to promote the sport of gaelic football. Most of us are Americans who are new to the sport, so if you don't have any playing experince, don't worry, neither did most of us when we joined! The club is open to both men and women. When do we play? Our regular playing season starts in the fall, but we'll be be having cleachtadhs (practices) every three weeks or so during the summer. Click here for dates. All cleachtadhs are at 2pm at Veteran's Park, by the Brady Street bridge where the hurling and rugby clubs play. At this point we're still a pretty new club, and so we're still fairly small and informal, but we're hoping to have enough players for organized teams by this fall.
