More great movies, in alphabetical order:

Satellite News

Godzilla 2000
(Back to the basics. Dubbed Japanese. There is really no other way.)

The Hudsucker Proxy
(A creative, hilarious, and intriguing film by the Coens brothers starring Tim Robbins(one of my personal favorite actors))

Innerspace
(They don't show this one on TV as much as they used to. This is another one of those I've seen 12,151 times.)

Krull
(What to say about KRULL? For starters, it was made in 1984, which excuses the following: based in the middle ages in some other dimension, laser-toting aliens take over, and steal the hero's girlfriend. The alien king wants to marry the princess, and so hides her in his castle which is made out of a giant animal. I could go on, but I might ruin something. This is just to warm you up --you have been warned. However, if you're into the corn, they actually rereleased this on DVD, so keep an eye out.)

Mallrats
(Directed by Kevin Smith; a love story in the classic form, set in a mall. Co-stars Jay and Silent Bob. A very Quotable movie, which is important.)

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
(What kind of movie list would this be if I left this off?)

Mystery Science Theater 3000: THE MOVIE
(The entire MST3K series is a tribute to the appreciation for the unintentional comedic entertainment value of B-movies. I am a MST3K-er in three rights: I regularly purchases the MST3K TV-episode videos from Amazon and watch them over and over and over again with religeous pretext; I love adopting cultish and bad movies and arguing to others about how "great" they are; and I use "MST3K" as shorthand for the aformentioned series. MST3K: THE MOVIE is about a decimal place-larger budget version of the TV show, which, if you are not familiar with it, lampoons the best of the worst movies ever made. A must-see/have for fans of the show, but certainly entertaining if you are new to the MST3K concept.) PG-13

The Negotiator
(Swat team zaniness and negotiating action. Really, there are justnot enough movies that have SWAT teams in them. This one is your basic holiwood suspense flick, it being reliably formulaic and loaded with great character actors. But when it boils down to it, The NEGOTIATOR is on this Movie List because of the SWAT teams running around the entire movie.)R

O Brother, Where Art Thou
(Very good movie by the COEN BROTHERS. . .again. I want to write an extremely insightful and profound review of this movie, but I'm hungry and I'll do it later. SEE IT!)Rated X for "X-treme viewing neccessary"

Office Space
(Anyone who has ever had a job should see this movie.)

Princess Mononoke
(If there is any film that represents the essense of what the U.S. loses when it refuses to properly open the doors to foreign film, it would be Princess Mononoke. Directed by HAYAO MIYAZAKI, Japan's version of Disney --a comparison used by Americans, who downplay this man's amazing ability to tell amazing stories. In my opinion, any comparison with the Disney company is an injustice MIYAZAKI's artistry, because Disney hasn't produced anything entirely redeeming since the LION KING. Disney, who own 24% percent of EVERYTHING IN EXISTENCE has to rely on its child company Mirimax to import these such works. Unfortunately after the birth of computer animation, American animation has become stuck in a lull; killed by market-calculated, formulaic, one-dimensional, predictable, trite, tiresome, and dumb characters and writing. While there is actually a hugemarket for manga in the U.S., these films come and go while in the boxoffice due to limited advertizing budgets. The fantasy, adventure, beauty, patience, and (thank God)actual story telling found in PRINCESS MONONOKE can be universally enjoyed.
PS - O.K., Disney's not THAT bad/evil, and work like MIYAZAKI's will live on, supported by audiences who will seek it out.)PG-13

Puppet Master 4
(Really cool if you're 12. Choose a favorite puppet guy and cheer him on to kill the most people. Good luck with finding this one anymore.)

Raising Arizona

Robot Jox
(I loved this movie when I was 9. It's about giant fighting robots. That's all you need, really.)

I couldn't find any sites that actually said anything good about the movie, those bastards.

Rocky
(I watched this at 1:00 in the morning of Jan. 4, 2002, and I must say, after years of not acknowledging the glory that is Rocky, I am going to have to watch all IV of them.)

Official Rocky Balboa page

Royal Tenenbaums
(When it comes to story telling, the ROYAL TENENBAUMS has come from an all-new angle. Told patiently, this story's characters are so colorful that the simple way the story is presented travels farther than many fast-paced comedies. And it is the characters and the way they interact with each other and the world as they grow up that gives the film its humor. Starring BEN STILLER, GENE HACKMAN, GWYNTH PALTROW, LUKE WILSON, OWEN WILSON, DANNY GLOVER, BILL MURRAY, and ANGELICA HUSTON. A nice, calm movie.)) R

Spaceballs

The 80's Movie Rewind: Spaceballs

Spirited Away
(Another work by Japanese director and writer HAYAO MIYAZAKI, SPIRITED AWAY delivers in every way. Beautifully animated, and skillfully told, the story of SPIRITED AWAY begins with the quite childhood detatchment of its main character, a girl named Chihiro, who, along with her family, get caught up in a world that they should never have been invloved. Unique visuals and characters make this movie a must see.) PG
