Well I never expected to meet the God of Thunder on their tour of OZ as I�d had a bad, well not bad, more annoying experience with Kiss on their last tour. So today at the Hall and Oates show I was just happy to be seeing one of my favourite musical duos! If not my favourite musical duo. I�d secured front row tickets thanx to a cunning 13 hour camp out for tickets!

So, not being in the Hall and Oates fan club, used to, cost too much, I�d emailed the H&O site to say how excited I was that they were coming etc etc big fan etc etc. I got an email back from the head of the Fan Club and I quote. �I know you�re not part of the fan club any more, but I�m trying to organise a meet and greet after the show. What I�m gonna do, is send you a membership card just for that night and I want you to try and find a guy named Kenny. He�s got a list of names and you�re on it. So if you stick with him you never know what�ll happen. Best regards and good luck, Diane.� YAY!

So, gig night, front row, great, no, fuckin awesome show, I got 4 guitar picks, Daryl looked down at one stage when I was singing and said �Not bad!� to me! Cool! They were awesome. So I finally met up with Kenny after a group of fans were almost beside themselves looking for Kenny, geez calm down! The show ended and we stuck by Kenny, Loretta my friend got the set list off the stage! Yay another souvenir. So we mill with Kenny. They take us down a hell corridor and say �Wait here� Then Daryl walks out, he doesn�t do meet and greets, he left, but saw him, then they took us down to the dressing rooms. I think Oates had left too.

So we�re walking down going �Cool, this is alright� when we get to the bottom, Loretta who was about 5 steps in front of me has frozen, I�m like �Huh?� When I turn the corner, standing in front of me is a giant of a man, Gene Fuckin Simmons! He�s big, taller than me and ugly as hell, in fact he�s got an aura around him that oozes coolness. He�s got 2 ladies with him, one on each arm, so Loretta is all like �oh my god, I�ve got front row tomorrow night, I love you� he says �I�ll see you at the show� I shake his hand and say �Mr Simmons, it�s an absolute pleasure!� He�s like �Nice to meet ya man!� He was on the way out so it was a chance meeting and just plain lucky. So we go into the band room, and there is Tom T�Bone Walk, H&O�s bass player for about a million years, so we have a chat get a pic and he signed my ticket, that was cool.. Nice guy, so we walk around grab a few drinx as ya do and milled. Met Charlie �Mr Casual� DeChant their Sax player, got a pic, he�s cool. Nothing else was going on so we left. So we go for a walk around the back of the venue. There�s 3 taragos, hmm, I bump into a girl I used to work with, she worked the gig and said all of Kiss were there, D�OH musta missed em by a second! Oh well, �But they�re staying at Star City� she says. Thankyou Christina! Star City is 5 mins from my house, so we go and have a look. So we go on a mission. Get to a couple of the bars, the elevator opens, there�s T Bone again, he says �Geez, hey guys, you get around!� we say �Yeah man, great to meet ya! Enjoy your stay!� He thanks us and goes. We couldn�t find Kiss or Hall and Oates but it was fun, saw heaps of Kiss Roadies and stuff, even the staff at the Casino were saying �We had them all here last night.� I don�t wanna hear last night!!!!

So, the Dream was over! BUT then the next day I go to my local video shop. Delores says to me �We just had some guy from Kiss in here� �WHO?� I say �I dunno?� �Gene Simmons� I say, �Yeah, him� she says. OK. I missed Gene Simmons in my local video shop by 5 minutes. He musta just walked down to grab a video. MAN! So I waited out the front of my place for a while just in case he came past. He never did. Rumour has it he hired �Detroit Rock City� well not really.

So, fancy meeting Gene �God of Thunder� Simmons at a Hall and Oates show!

Note to that, he saw Loretta at the show that night, she was in full Kiss make up, he looked down at her, did a double take and pointed at her and said �YOU!!� So he did remember! Cool huh!
