PHYSICAL THERAPY MODEMS 5
The  previous PTM pages dealt mostly with exercises and machines that I believe can be used to help people with limited or no use of their legs to compensate by strengthening their upper bodies. PTM5 will deal with leg exercise machines that can be used by people with some use of their legs such as leg curls and extensions. The person can begin at 20 pounds with pulley machines.
The two most basic are leg curls and leg extensions that develop the quadricep (front thigh) and the hamstring (back thigh) muscles respectively. The above machine is a LEG EXTENSION/CURL ROW that allows a person to do both extensions and curls on the same machine (as well as rowing apparatus for the upper back).
The young ladies in the above pictures are demonstrating various exercise machines designed to develop the legs with fairly little effort. They exercise each side of the thighs: front/back, inside/outside.

The machine on the far left is the
HAMSTRING ISOLATOR for developing the back thigh muscles and is easier than the leg curl. The young lady here is pushing the cushion up with the back of her feet.

The young ladies in the next two pictures are demonstrating the
INNER THIGH and OUTER THIGH respectively. With the Inner Thigh, the young lady is using her knees to push the cushions in to join them. With the Outer Thigh, this young lady is using her knees to push the cushions out.

The young lady in the picture on the far right is using a
MULTI-HIP machine for developing her hip muscles along with her leg muscles. In this picture she is extending her leg backwards for back leg development. The apparatus is also designed so that she can extend sideways and push the cushion upward with her knee.
