Miles and Miffy have almost the full run of our living room in our 1-bed flat in Surrey, South-East England. The only areas they aren't allowed in are behind the computer desk (as Miles kept getting lost round the back of the PC and came dangerously close to the plugs) and on the furniture (as mentioned, Miles likes to poop on the sofa!). The only other preparation we had to do was to put cable tidies around the cables at the back of the TV so they couldn't chew through them (although Miles chewed through a PS2 controller cable whilst my boyfriend was playing a game!). Other than that they've been easy to look after, getting into occasional mischief but generally just hopping about, chewing cardboard boxes we've given them, and going back to their "area" for a munch on the hay, pellets or veg, a toilet trip, or a drink.
China and Rocket live in our bedroom, in the cage we originally bought with Miles, with a large puppy pen attached to act as a permanent run. A large fleecy throw covers the floor of the run, and all their toys, boxes, cardboard tubes etc. are kept in this run. China likes to be put onto the bed and binkies all over the place - she gets so excited! Rocket has a small problem with affection, in that he gets extremely jealous due to lack of affection when he was younger. As a result he can sometimes get over-enthusiastic by nipping or lunging when you try to pull away or fuss China instead of him. But as he gets more and more used to regular fussing, and with China as his friend, he's sure to change for the better! |
