Old Updates Page 3

Hi.  I've been long overdue to update this website.

I'm hard at work now, climbing, trimming, removing and planting trees
and I've been keeping very busy.

My strength and energy have generally been very good.  I still take my vitamins and flax oil.  I had an MRI on June 17th.  Praise the Lord, another good one.

I was officially 1 year  "cancer-free" this past August 13th.  Every day is a celebration.

My next MRI is not yet scheduled.  I expect it will be sometime this winter.

Hi and Welcome to my web page.  This may be my final "update".

Things are still going great.  My last MRI check up scan was Nov. 17, 2004 and it showed all is well.  My tumor removal surgery was about 2 years ago.  I praise God everyday for the miracles and blessings He has given me to be in the excellent health I am today.

I've crammed a lot into this website and keep adding more.  While it may not have the most professional appearance, there is a lot of good information to be found here, if one clicks around a little.

This experience has given me a much deeper appreciation for God's amazing creation of the human body and a deeper realization of my responsibility to care for the one I've been given.  I think there is a flawed yet pervasive way of thinking today that one's health is what it is and if you have a problem you must need a drug.  Sometimes that maybe true.  However I have learned that I can feel a whole lot better by living a more disciplined and health conscious lifestyle that emphasizes: "Don't put bad stuff in my body, do put good stuff in."

Remember God Loves you.  May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.

Hi and Welcome to my website about my story of surviving a brain tumor and brain cancer.

This summer (mid August) I celebrated the anniversary of being declared cancer free for 4 years.  That first MRI to come back as GOOD (i.e. "no reoccurance of the brain cancer") was in August '03 following brain surgery to remove my tumor back in March '03.

I have annual brain scans now by MRI.  My next one is scheduled in Jan '08 and I am expecting another good one.  Though I occasionally feel light headed I am doing well. Thank God.

As awkward and thrown together as this website is, I have found sharing my story like this has been helpful to thers going through brain cancer which of course makes me very pleased.

God Bless.

Hi and welcome to my website about my story of surviving a brain tumor and brain cancer.

My last MRI scan of my brain was in January.  It was another good scan thankfully, showing no reoccurance of the brain cancer.  It did indicate that I had more edema than last time.  Its not clear to me why that is happening, but I think this is causing me to feel off, tired and or light headed at times.

Here I am 5 years after my brain surgery at Duke University Medical Center and overall I must say things are going well.

As awkward and thrown together as this website is, I have found out sharing my story like this has been helpful to others going through brain cancer, which of course makes me very pleased.

God Bless.

Oct. 7, 2008

Hi and welcome to my website about my story of surviving a brain tumor.  Well after 5+ years of relatively smooth sailing, since my brain tumor resection in March '03, I've hit a rough patch.  I had a seizure on Sept 21 shortly after I went to bed.  I think a muscle relaxant i took for some neck pain called Cyclobenzaprine (aka flexeril) triggered it.  This is the first seizure I've had since I left Duke hospital in 2003 and it took me completely by surprise.  I got some bruises from the seizure but I'm OK.

Anyway a MRI was taken of my brain and they found some areas of concern for a possible brain tumor recurrence.   So presently I am waiting to hear what Dr. Friedman at Duke thinks about these scans and what he thinks I should do.
