Looks like my next MRI will probably not be scheduled until mid-August.  No date yet.

Good News in the news yesterday is that former POW Jessi Lynch came home to West Virginia.  And US soldiers killed Saddam Hussein's 2 notorious sons, hopefully bringing more stability to Iraq and our occupation closer to an end.

Also walking with my friends down a road I had never been down before, we came across the biggest mulberry tree I have ever seen in my life (over 18" diameter) and loaded with ripe fruit.

I continue to feel well.  Praise God.

Great News: Clean MRI !

I had a fresh MRI (brain scan) on August 13th.
I now have 2 independent expert readings of these scans.
Both conclude that there is NO RECURRENT TUMOR !

You may recall there was an "ovoid of enhancement worrisome for recurrent tumor" on my June 2nd MRI.
My onclogists expected that this ovoid or growth would continue to enlarge and become new tumor.  Instead without any radiation or chemotherapy, I have been miraculously healed.  Praise God!

As I have been saying for some time I have felt quite well.  My strength has been returning nicely as I recover from surgery (167 days ago) and I have been seizure free since leaving Duke hospital.  But the thing I've learned about brain cancer is medically you're not OK until the MRI says you're OK.

Thank you all so much for your prayers and support.
God Bless you all.

More Good News! Another Good MRI!

Well finally a full month after my last MRI brain scan I am getting around
to updating my situation here.
I had an MRI on Nov. 5th, 2003.

This is approximately 8 months after my surgery and 3 months after my
August 13th "breakthrough" MRI, which was the first to show no new cancer.

Results of the Nov. 5th MRI are fine.
I have not seen the films yet myself or even read the radiologist's report but
a call from my doctor's office said : all is well.

Furthermore I continue to be seizure free without medication.
I also continue to be thankful to God and Jesus and one of the most grateful and blessed people on the planet.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Feb. 14, 2004

I had another brain scan by MRI on Feb 5th.  Just got the results back . . . and the MRI is . . .
Good! no problems, no worries.

Its almost a full year from my surgery to remove the original brain tumor.  Now this is my third scan to show the cancer is not coming back.  My scan history briefly is this:

March 14, 2003: released from the hospital, tumor removed but biopsy shows grade 3.

June 20, 2003:  scan is questionable or worrisome for recurrent tumor.

August 13, 2003:  my "break through" MRI: no recurrent tumor

Nov 5, 2003:  good scan - no recurrent tumor.

Feb 5, 2003: good scan - no recurrent tumor.
