More Trip Photos
Late one night we were driving near the Meteor Crater in Arizona. Since the place was closed, dark and we needed to see the place, we decided to drive around the crater to find a place to crash til morning. Around the backside, along a dirt road we stopped and crashed for a few hours. Mike got up before me and climbed the crater ridge and took these shots. If you look really hard you can see my car in the center of the center photo below. We were parked about a 2 o'clock position around the right side of the crater from the interpretation center. About 6:00am this truck came up the road and this guard guy told us to get the hell out of here, saying we were on private property. So we headed out on the search for morning coffee. When we found our coffee we saw this sign. I'm leaning over to show an unknown rash on my neck that developed overnight. Fortunately it cleared up in a couple days.
We crossed Hoover Dam a couple of times during the 3 trips.
After finding some coffee we looked at our map and seen the Grand Canyon was nearby. It was off the route but we decided to see some of it anyways. Instead of driving thru the park we stopped and took a few photos of what we could see of the canyon. We new we missed the best views but we need to get back on the road to our next planned stop. We were heading east towards Florida...
