Mike & Mike's Better Adventures cont...
On our 3rd trip we stopped in Drumheller, Alberta at the Royal Tyrrell Museum as we are both Dino nuts.
Or next stop was Seattle so we headed southwest. It was my first time seeing Canada outside of Ontario so when I saw the Rockies I had to stop.
We headed for the border at Crows Nest Pass in British Columbia. When we got to the border it was closed! 6am-12pm. So we set up camp in one of the stations searching areas til morning. When the border guards showed up we had to pack up the gear and get the van in line at the gate. We were first in line and were the first to be searched of course. They waved us over and told us to sit on the curb til they checked us out. This was the only border crossing of many that actually wanted some ID. Now days I bet it is much different. They searched the van, found nothing and let us go into the States.
Outside of Seattle, Washington there is a town called Renton where Jimi Hendrix is buried. We found the cemetary and knew where Jimi's grave was by the people already visiting there. We hung out a while and got a few rubbings of his grave.

Morning surprise at Sunset Beach
cruising the beach in the morning
After Visiting Jimi we headed for the coast to look for a place to crash. It was dark when we finally saw some sort of beach area. We pulled onto the beach and knew we were at the Pacific but not sure of our camping location. When morning came we opened our eyes to the biggest beach I have ever seen. What a great way to start our west coast scenic drive.
