News of the Day Archive-October 13-19
October 13- Today I woke up at around 1:30 or so, just before my parents came home with some breakfast from Jack In The Box for me. I ate while sitting at the computer, which is basically what I did for the first hours of my day. While at the computer I sort of watched the Angel game off and on, as well as some of the football games on. Before I knew it I had pretty much blown my entire day since it wasn't until about 5:30 that I actually decided to get dressed. Though earlier in the day when I had brushed my teeth I decided to get a brand new one from the cupboard because the one I was using was used way past the time it should have been. The little blue strip was almost gone, and I think you're supposed to get a new one when it hits about the halfway point. After getting dressed my parents got home from Arby's, which is what we had for dinner. I ate, and sat at the computer for a little while longer. My brother showed up with his dog Bruno, and his S.O. (Significant Other). For those that don't know, I am not too fond of his choice in women, who is much older, and rather portly, but I don't feel like getting into that. They left at about the time I did, 7:15, when I went over to Starbucks to meet up with some of the gang. When I got there, nobody was there, until Shay arrived a couple minutes after me. We found a table, and saw a guy playing some loud music from his Camaro, and sort of dancing. I didn't think much of it, and we sat there when Dennis and Little Chris showed up. That's about the time we both went inside to get something to drink, myself opting for the grande Caramel Mocchiatto (sp?). Shay got some fruity drink and a copy of the New York Times, but as he ordered it there was something wrong, so the guy at the register asked another guy about it and he replied "...or just charge him for the L.A. Times, though it will be three bucks cheaper". I thought about that for a second, and didn't think he could possibly be talking about the newspaper. Then Shay showed me the price and it was a whopping $4.75 for just a newspaper! We went outside and sat at the tabes, where Chris and Dennis, along with the girls sitting at a nearby table, were looking at that same guy at his Camaro. He was doing some weird things like taking off his shoes, and sliding them down his window (at least that's what Chris said). He was a weird character, and had all of our attention for about ten minutes or so, in the midst of which we were joined by Big Chris. He eventually took off his shirt, and walked around in a tank top, before yelling out some indiscernible tirade, and drove away. We sat at Starbucks covering a variety of topics, as usual, before the consensus was that the table we were at was too crowded and we moved over to my truck. The conversation continued from there about things like the cabin trip, and old football stories, before Dennis had to leave. It was 9:00 when he departed to pick up Tom from the airport, and the rest of us left the parking lot shortly thereafter, at around 9:30. I came home, signed online, and watched some tv. That is pretty much all I did for the remainder of my night, and even turned down a request to go to Denny's because I was already pretty comfortable at home. I had some conversations online with the likes of Dennis, Shay, Gabe, and Paul during the few hours I have been online. I checked out some things, watched some Con Air on TNT, and decided io write the News at about 12:45. This was a relatively short update, and has only taken me about half an hour. I have class in the morning so I should probably get to bed somewhat soon.

October 14/15- I woke up at about 8:45, got dressed, and was out the door by 9:00. I got to school a couple minutes earlier than I have been, and it was nice to be able to take my time walking to class. I got to Philosophy, where we started our unit on Ethics, before getting our tests handed back to us. I was a little disappointed because I got an 87, since I felt that I had done a little better than that and it didn't seem that difficult. From there I went to Sports Management, but not without running into Kris and chatting with him for a couple minutes. Sports Management was pretty standard and we had our typical hour long session before being let out at noon. I came home and sat at the computer for a few minutes before my mom showed me something pretty interesting on her computer. Apparently somebody had tried to hack into her computer and with the new virus scan she had just installed it was able to pinpoint the person, and even showed us a map saying the hacker was from Virginia. That made me realize that I should install that in my computer too, so that's what I did until about 1:00 when I got dressed for work. Just before going to work I stopped by Nutwood practice where Ricardo gave me a CD of Flogging Molly. As I was leaving they played Accommodations of Desire, which never seems to get old. That is one great song. I went to work where things were a little busy due to the fact that it was Columbus Day, so some kids were out of school. I was sort of busy at times, which made me a little mad because when I'm at work I would rather be bored than busy. However there were some extended dead periods where I basically just walked around and looked for some things to keep me busy, while occasionally talking to Paul, who came in from outside every now and then. Eventually 6:00 rolled around which was time for me to leave, though it wasn't until about 6:15 when Jenine showed up and I was able to cash out. I asked David about my review which he said should be pretty easy, so that made me somewhat content. From SpeedZone I went home where I sat at the computer for a few hours, and ate dinner. I dozed off at about 8:30 and woke up after about an hour or so only to continue sitting at the computer. I pretty much spent my night at home since I was a little tired for some reason, and pretty much just watched tv until about 3:00 before falling asleep. I woke up at about 7:40 the next morning realizing I was going to be late to my Religion class, so I figured I would just miss it then go to my Bio class, and went back to sleep for about an hour or so more of sleep. I didn't wake up until about 10:00, so since I had already missed that class too, I went back to sleep. I woke up for good at about 12:30, only to sit at the computer. That's about all I did for the first couple hours of my day, as well as watched some tv, and listened to some music. At about 2:30 Gabe called me and said he got out of class early, and wanted to get something to eat. So I got dressed and he picked me up, so we decided on a place to eat. We decided on Happy Wok, at my suggestion, so that's where we went. The two of us ate there, which was kind of weird, because of all the years I've been going there, I don't think I have ever eaten there, let alone actually ordered my own food. It's always my parents that order it for me, and we take it home. Well we ate and by this time it was about 3:30 and Gabe had to pick up his sister so he dropped me off at home where I stayed for the rest of the night. I sat online and listened to some music for the next few hours. I talked to my mom online in the other room which was kind of interesting because we both were signed on with the same accout talking to eachother because we are simply too lazy to get out of our chairs. At about 7:00 my dad came home with Taco Pub for dinner which was good as always, before I went back to the computer. Around 8:30 I got into a sneezing fit and started taking on some cold symptoms which had me a little concerned, and put me in a somewhat sour disposition. Shay showed up at about 9:15, and I went to the backyard to chat with him, as bundled up as I could since I thought I was getting a cold. Shortly after we were joined by Big Chris, and then by Robert Taylor. The conversation was pretty standard convering topics like SpeedZone and Mormons. Little Chris eventually joined us, and that was about as large as the group got. We all sat in the backyard discussing "Cooper House" and discrimination before everybody called it a night at about 12:00 or so. I came inside my house and sat at the computer for a little while, updating the site, and trying to find a snack to eat. It's now about 2:00 and I should be getting some sleep since I must wake up for class in the morning. I can't miss anymore.

October 16- Today I woke up at about 8:45, got dressed, poured my cup of coffee, and was out the door by 9:00. Things were going smoothly until I got to the Grand Ave. offramp where a truck had stalled, making traffic a little worse, and costing me precious minutes. I got to my Philosophy class about five minutes late, and almost missed a quiz to start the class off. I did poorly on the quiz, before we continued our lesson on Ethics, which is a pretty interesting topic. After class I walked down to my next class by the baseball field, where Robert, AJ, and myself contemplated not going to class, at my suggestion. We ended up staying, and got some valuable information for the upcoming midterm. Class ended at about 11:50 and I began my drive home by making a left turn from Temple to Grand. However as I was in the lane, I saw a car that looked like Steve's, and when I saw the Nutwood sticker on the back I knew it was him, so I changed lanes and drove alongside him. Both Sean and Steve were in the car, and we were able to talk to eachother long enough to decide to eat at Denny's for lunch. So we drove to Denny's where we saw Donald Shum (sp?), and he served us. Conversation was pretty standard covering an array of topics like ghosthunting to photoshop, while I ate my Lumberjack Slam. I was supposed to get some English muffins with my meal, but Donald must have forgotten them, but it was a good thing since I barely finished what I had in front of me. We sat around and talked for a short while before finally leaving at about 1:15. I came home and got a little AOL time in before getting ready for work. I showed up to SpeedZone promptly at 2:00 where I received my drawer, and was ready to work. I talked to Phillip the gametech on occasion, and helped out the occasional customer on yet another boring shift. Paul came in from time to time so I was able to talk to him, but conversations with non-customers were few and far between. It's a solitary lifestyle working the registers on the weekdays. I spent some time looking out the back door to see the weather, as well as going through some of the sports cards we offer at the redemption counter. By around 6:00 Montes, and Taylor Hooks were in the area so I went from having nobody to talk to, to having a couple which always is sort of lousy. I was supposed to be cashed out by 6:00, and I even told Damon at about 6:05, but after helping out a few customers, and waiting around, I finally was cashed out at around 6:30. I didn't mind getting a few more minutes of work, but it's the principle of the fact that I had to wait around to be sent home. If I had somewhere to go, which I didn't or rarely do, I would have been upset! From SpeedZone I went home and had some dinner, while sitting at the computer. My dad showed up shortly after I did, and I talked to my parents for a short while. Paul came by at about 8:00 and we headed over to Kinko's to see how much it would cost to make color copies of the cabin drawing. It came out to a whopping $30 just to scan the picture, and $10 per square foot to print the image. As we walked back to the car, we went back inside and asked the lady about black and white copies, and it was a mere $4.33 to scan the picture. What a difference colors make! I guess colors really complicate things. So Paul dropped me off at home so I could pick up my car since we were going to Starbucks, and I wasn't sure if I would be able to get a ride for myself and Nick from there. I picked up Nick, and we drove to Starbucks in Brea as usual. Before going to join the "usual gang of idiots", we stopped by Burger King, where my gluttonous self bought some food, despite having eaten dinner. Once we showed up, we moved to a bigger table and I sat there eating my food. The usual group was there, consisting of: Gabe, Paul, Shay, and Steve, not to mention Nick and myself. We were later joined by the Chris'. The conversation seemed heavily centered around the ensuing cabin trip, and the various details pertaining to the mini-vacation. Other topics were covered, but none as prevalent as that one. At about 9:30 Gabe and I got something to drink, and I opted for my standard Caramel Mochiatto (sp?). Things pretty much remained the status quo for the rest of the night, though about half the group did leave to check out the alcohol prices at the nearby Ralph's. Then Lindsay showed up and pretty much the same half actually went to purchase the alcohol that would be consumed during the cabin trip. When everybody was back, we stayed at our table continuing to chat about things. It wasn't until about midnight that we decided to leave, which was a little late for us at Starbucks, but it didn't really bother me. I dropped off Nick, and then came home, where I signed online immediately. I sat online, joined a buddy chat for cabin discussion, and updated the web site in various forms. That lasted for a few hours and it is now almost 3:00 AM and I should really be getting to bed soon. Early class tomorrow.

October 17- Like most Thursdays I woke up, got dressed, and was out the door by 7:25. I contemplated sleeping in again, but I couldn't justify missing two classes in a row, especially when I didn't legitimately oversleep. Once at school I walked to my Religion class where we had moved onto Confuciunism, meaning I pretty much missed the entire lecture on Taoism. Oh well. Class ended at its normal time, about 9:15, and I went to Bio class where I met up with Robert beforehand. I knew we had a quiz, but I still didn't dedicate much time to studying. We were let into class at 9:30 and we started the class with the quiz, which I assumed I did poorly on. Time will tell with that one. Once the quiz was over Craig Petersen gave another passionate lecture regarding the various issues we were discussing, and kept my interest peaked for the duration of the class. At 11:00 I walked to my truck and made the trip home. When I got home my mom was excited because she had ordered a pizza from Pizza Hut online, and was expecting it shortly. By about 11:45 the pizza man showed up and delivered our lunch, which was good, though I think it was because I was really hungry. My mom probably had about two pieces of the pie, and I polished off the rest, though it wasn't really that big to begin with. I sat at the computer for about an hour and a half, listening to some music, until about 2:30 I started getting pretty tired. I actually was tired all morning, but I am extremely susceptible to caffeine, and by having coffee, and iced tea for lunch I couldn't fall asleep if I had tried. However by about 3:00 I was able to finally do so, and I dozed off until a little after 6:00. Naturally I sat at the computer for the next few hours, not really accomplishing anything of significance. At around 8:30 my dad had brought home In-N-Out for dinner, though I was still kind of full from eating the pizza earlier, but I was able to eat two hamburgers and some fries. They were a little cold, but it was still good. I continued to sit online until about 10:15 when I went with Shay to the bank, to get some gas, then to SpeedZone. We got there at about 10:45 so we went over to Top E and talked with Robert and Gabe while they closed up everything. Shay and I then went inside and sat at a table to wait for them while they took care of some other things, at which point we were joined by Taylor Hooks. She chatted with for a few minutes before Gabe and Robert came out, and we went out to the cars. As usual we sort of just hung out at the cars for a few minutes, before making our way over to 7-11. When I was getting out of the car some guy stopped me in the neighboring car asking if any of us "did anything" because it looked like he wanted to get something. I informed him that none of us really knew where he could get any and went inside to shop. I really wasn't hungry, but I still bought a Canada Dry ginger ale, and King Size Twix, that I ate half of. We sat in Robert's truck chatting, though we didn't stay out there for very long because I think everyone had the intention of going to bed early for the ensuing cabin trip, and I was home by 12:15. I signed online, spent a great deal of time searching for the day's next movie quote, washed some laundry that I would need for cabin, and started doing a little packing. I've been watching tv which has been slowing the process, including Cheers which is a pretty funny show. It's now a little after 3:00 and I need to finish packing before going to sleep. Big day tomorrow, with hopefully lots of details to be included.

October 18/19- Friday morning I woke up at about 9:00, and watched a little I Love Lucy while half asleep, before finally getting dressed at about 9:30. I picked up Nick at 9:55 and drove over to Shay's house where we met up with part of the group, ready to begin another cabin trip. Those of us that were there were: Shay, Gabe, Little Chris, Robert, AJ, Nick, Steve, Richard, and myself. At around 10:15 we were unexpectedly joined by Alfred, who was supposed to drive with Ricardo to Paul's house, though he could not be gotten a hold of. Efforts to contact him were made in vain. So at around 10:25 we all piled into Shay and Richard's cars to head over to Homestyle Cafe. But on the way there we got a hold of Ricardo, who had just woken up, and asked Paul to wait for him. We were ready to leave him, since it was his own fault that he overslept, but instead decided to go to Paul's house since it wasn't fair to make Paul, who was ready on time, miss out on going to Homestyle, and not drive up with the rest of the group. After missing the offramp for Euclid, and turning around, we made it to Paul's house. When we got there Shay and Robert started tossing the baseball back and fourth, but things got a little out of hand when Shay tried to throw the ball from "home to second" and ended up grossly misfiring. The ball sailed by Robert, who didn't do much to catch it, and ended up hitting the neighbor's car. The loud noise prompted everybody to run into the house and start watching tv. We eventually ventured back to the front yard, prompting Robert and Little Chris to search for the baseball that had somehow not left a dent. This was about the time that Big Chris showed up. We all just stood around the front yard, and even started tossing a Nerf football back and fourth. I think I threw out my arm doing that since it had been such a long time since I had thrown a ball around. Finally at about 11:30 Ricardo drove up. He showed absolutely no remorse for all of us waiting. Three cars left from Paul's, and we got to Homestyle in about ten minutes. When we got there and told them we were a party of fifteen, the lady seemed to get upset since Shay had called the day before to sort of warn them, and had said that we would be there around 11:00. Well we would have been, but that's beside the point, and instead of us all sitting at one table, there were five at one, and ten at another. I sat at the table with ten. I ordered ham and eggs which came with toast, along with an orange juice and cup of $.25 coffee. I had a tough time figuring out where the sugar was until Big Chris showed me how to pour it out of the shaker on the table right in front of me. We were shortly joined by Tom and Dennis, who filled two vacancies that were at my end of the table, and at last the cabin trip crew was complete. The food came just as they showed up, and I ate. It was only the third time I had ever eaten there, and I must say that it was delicious again. Another breakfast with both good food, and company to match it. We all finished eating, and had no trouble paying the bill, which has been a problem in the past when we eat places, and we made our way outside where Paul told us a couple good jokes, and everybody got their last cigarette. In the parking lot we all got in our cars and were on our way to Big Bear at about 12:45. I rode in Shay's car with the Chris'. Tom, Dennis, Gabe, and AJ rode together in another car, and that served for a couple good jokes as we left the parking lot. We didn't really hit any traffic on the freeway, and even saw some raised truck that was allegedly on the cover of a magazine. Once we were off the freeway we made a quick stop at a Unocal 76 so those that were less than prepared could take care of their needs. From then on it was up the hill, where we were quickly passed by the other four cars in the group, since Shay's Civic has no power whatsoever. The trip up was pretty much a standard conversation, covering an array of topics and putting our feet out the window. About three fourths up the mountain everybody wanted to stop and get a cigarette after having passed a bunch of signs saying there was extreme fire danger, though I guess that doesn't concern them. We passed them and they shortly followed, and not too long afterwards we made the turn into Sugarloaf. Before going to the cabin we drove past the high school, which seemed to have just been let out. That made sense since it was about 2:30 when we showed up. After making fools of ourselves, mainly because Shay doesn't know how to drive, and forced us all to make awkward U-turns, we drove through the parking lot to quell the curiousity of some. From the high school we drove over to the infamous cabin on Spruce. We got there, and some of us unloaded their things, including the alcohol, and put the latter in the refrigerator to cool. Naturally those that smoked lit up their cigarettes for the novelty of being able to smoke inside the house, and we all got as comfortable as we could, since there were fifteen of us in total. It was around this time that Paul, sort of unceremoniously, unveiled the infamous drawing. We tossed the Nerf football a little back and fourth, and I even started playing a little catch with Tom before it was declared that we would be playing Over the Line shortly. So I went and changed into my Sonics shorts, and got my glove. The fifteen of us piled back into the cars, which was a task in itself because nobody that drove really wanted to drive, and we had to pile into the cars uncomfortably. On the way there we had some confusion about where to go resulting in a few U-turns, and frustration. We did eventually manage to get everyone to park in the dirt parking lot of the high school, and things got a little more organized. The baseball field was both fenced in, and the football team was practicing in a far corner of it, so we eyed the furthest field from them. Next came the task of finding an easily accesible way in. Half the group went one way, and the other followed me. We never really found an easy way, but we used a gate to help us climb over, while everyone else walked a further distance, but didn't have to climb anything. Once all the gear was there, we picked teams. Shay and Paul were captains, and I ended up being picked by Paul, very early in the draft. The team I was on ended up being Paul, Nick, Robert, AJ, and Tom, against Shay, Gabe, Dennis, Big Chris, and Ricardo. Alfred, Little Chris, Steve, and Richard decided not to play. Alfred acted as coach, sporting a pair of nice mirrored glasses, for the other team, while Little Chris acted as our inspiration. Our first at bat was not without a good cheer, that if you weren't there wouldn't have quite the effect as if I were to include it here. It was a fun game, and the score remained pretty low for an Over the Line game. I had a couple decent plays on both offense and defense, though, like everyone else, I was getting sort of a headache which we attributed to the high elevation we were at. It was another successful game in my opinion, since I thought it was pretty fun, and not just because we pulled out the victory in our last at bat. I was still having fun when we were losing too! Something about over the line, along with the fact that it was our first away game (does it really count as an away game if neither team calls it home?). Once the game was over everybody just sat around the field for a couple minutes, watching Little Chris make a fool of himself. We all got our things, and walked back to the cars, though some of us got sidetracked by the notion of watching high school girls play whatever sport it was in the gym. Eventually we all got back to the cabin at around 5:00. A short while after we were there, the beers were deemed to have been cool enough for consumption, so a couple of us opened one up, including Little Chris who began to drink his Rolling Rock. I had a slight headache from running around, so I didn't start just then. Naturally a porn was put in the VCR because it seems to be a requisite in order to have a bunch of guys around with a tv. That was in the tv for a while, even though it was of poor quality, and everybody seemed in agreement that it wasn't very good. By around 6:30 hunger took over and the call was made to Domino's for some pizzas. By collecting a mere $7 from everybody that would amount to $105 worth of pizza, and after making the call, we found out we would be getting 11 pizzas for about $90. Good deal. It was around that time that I opened up a beer for myself, and drank it at a leisurely pace. The pizza arrived and everybody ate a great deal of food, and slowly but surely the number of pies was reduced to about four. Meanwhile, during this entire session, Little Chris was quietly putting back beer after beer. Slowly but surely he became inebriated, after having consumed nine beers! Eventually the porn that was in the VCR was outvoted in lue of watching the Best of Chris Farley. Needless to say, everyone was having a good time watching that with phrases like "living in a van down by the river!" and in reference to the number of heart attacks "I believe that makes a baker's dozen". In the middle of one of the skits everybody ran out of the cabin as I turned back to see Chris put his pizza on the table. I normally am not really affected by the sight too much, but watching it ooze out of his mouth in great volume almost had me sick to the stomach. Somehow or another the vomit was cleaned up (by Ricardo and Paul I believe), and everyone just sort of hung outside for a while. At about 8:30 Shay said he wanted to make a run to Easy's to pick up some things to clean up the cabin, since it was still ridiculously early and the cabin was already a shambles. So I went with Shay, Robert, AJ, and Steve, and walked down to the general store. It was pretty cool walking down there, and the brisk air felt nice. I really didn't need to get anything, but I still bought gummy candies, a brownie, and a Pepsi because they didn't have any Coke. We walked back to the cabin, where a short cleanup process was done, and the clock was sort of reset as far as cleanliness was concerned. By this time Little Chris was pretty quiet, and that's pretty much how he stayed for the rest of the night. During this time somewhere I had a chugging contest with Shay, that I would have definitely lost, had Shay's beer not been frozen because it was in the freezer for too long. Everybody seemed pretty dead around this time, and Paul, Tom, and myself seemed pretty desperate for something to do. We sat around the table trying to think of fun things we could do, though we never really did figure anything out. The rest of the group seemed content just lounging around. Things got a little boring in my opinion around this time because I felt like doing something, as did Tom and Paul, but we just couldn't think of anything to satisfy our boredom. Finally at about 10:30 Tom said he wanted to find a 7-11, so I jumped at the chance to go with him, with my new found knowledge of Sugarloaf since I had just been looking at a map. We were joined by Gabe and Steve. The four of us drove down to Big Bear Blvd., which is pretty much the main street, and we searched for a 7-11. After driving into town we found one, and went inside. I searched the entire store, and realized I needed absolutely nothing, especially since I had bought things at Easy's that I still hadn't used. Though I did find bait, and Big Bear Souvenier hats. While on the road I happened to see only one wooden bear in the darkness, which was something Paul and I had joked about last time I went up there. We drove back to the cabin, after almost thinking we missed the turn to Maple Lane. When we got there at about 11:00 we thought that Steve's car had multiplied, but instead we realized that it was Sabrina and Angela, two of Ricardo's friends. I didn't really feel like being social so I went in the back room with Gabe, Tom, and whoever else felt like going in there. We talked about various things, including the infamous tower log book, and being antisocial. Slowly but surely the few of us turned into many of us, and it was no longer antisocial to be in there. So I went out and joined everyone else, and watched the card games that were being played. They were playing a game that involved getting four of a kind then grabbing a spoon, and during one game I grabbed a spoon even though I wasn't playing, causing everyone else to instinctively grab a spoon. It was worth a good laugh for me. I also put the spoons (once they had moved onto another game that didn't require them) in both Paul's and Gabe's hoods, which was again worth a laugh for me. After I was finished watching the card games, I figured I would drink a beer since I had paid for a lot and only drank two so far. So I asked Chris if I could have a Rolling Rock, since we had prearranged that I could have one, and he said I could have the remaining three since he didn't feel too good. I took him up on the offer, and finished my first, then moved onto my second. I kept watching the various card games, and joined in the various conversations, as well as playing the harmonica to Flogging Molly which was fun. Ricardo had noticed me drinking, and encouraged me to have some more, and since things were a little boring before, I jumped at the chance to continue drinking since I was looking to have a good time up there. Before I knew it I was done with the three Rolling Rocks, but Ricardo gave me permission to have a couple Budweisers. I tried watching a little bit of Conan at around 1:00, but it was kind of loud, and thus tough to pick up any of the jokes. At about that time the Chris Farley video was put back in, and we started watching that again, which was still funny. I think everybody was in the living room watching, but after about the "Schmidt's Gay" commercial it seemed like people were dropping off like flies. It was only about 1:30 when it seemed like everyone was going to sleep, but I just wasn't having it. I had finished five beers since starting with the Rolling Rocks, and was waiting five minutes at Tom's discretion to go for the sixth, and I was feeling pretty good. There was no way I was going to sleep, especially since I don't even go to bed on school nights, let alone when "I'm on vacation" as Gabe put it. So I stayed out in the living room chatting it up with whoever I could, which basically meant Paul since he seemed to be the only one that wanted to stay up, though he seemed a little distracted at the time. So I was pretty content just sitting there flipping through the Maxim with the occasional visitor to the living room which ranged from Big Chris to Richard. Good times. Eventually Gabe convinced me to make my way into the back room so I wouldn't be "pouring salt on anyone's game". I didn't and still don't care, because in retrospect I might have made it a little more comfortable for the semiconscious like Tom. In the room I still didn't feel like going to sleep so I talked like nobody wanted to go to sleep. I still don't quite understand why everyone was going to sleep so early! I was almost angry now that I think about it. Luckily those in the room, namely Dennis, Gabe, Steve, and Big Chris, humored me and made for good conversation. Like I said, I was feeling good at the time. I can't quite remember the times exactly, but at around 3:00 Dennis mentioned that he sort of wanted to smoke, so I took the opportunity to exploit the desire to be awake and suggested that he go outside, which made Gabe want to as well. Sure enough we all went outside, where they smoked. It was really cold outside, but quite invigorating at the same time. A nice change of pace, though it is starting to get cool down in the flatlands. When we came back inside I went to the back room, but others stuck around to talk in the living room, and even though I joined them, I made it a point that I didn't start it. Eventually we went back into the room and we talked for a little while longer before falling asleep at about 4:00 at the foot of the bed Dennis and Gabe slept in. At about 5:30 I woke up to use the restroom and I saw Paul in the bathroom trying to take a splinter out of his fingernail. It looked painful. I did my business and went back to sleep. I was pretty cold on the floor without any blankets, since I had turned down those that were offered to me thinking I could make it all night. I occasionally woke up to see both Dennis and Gabe's feet hanging over the edge of the bed. I woke up for good at about 8:00 and went to join Little Chris at the table in the living room. Slowly but surely everybody began to wake up. For some reason it felt like the bottom of my socks were wet, even though I had worn my slippers almost the entire time I was in the cabin. We just kind of sat around until a little after 9:00 when we finally began to clean things up. I took the liberty of putting the eleven pizza boxes in a trash bag, emptying a few ash trays, and putting all the bottles, cans, and beer boxes that were in the kitchen into trash bags. I felt like I was helping out, though I didn't see too much participation from a lot of people, so I figured I might as well just join them in not doing anything. I had already helped out, so I could goof off with less obligation than some others since I had already done a decent share of work. The cleanup process was taking longer than expected because nobody was helping, so that angered Shay, and probably with good cause. During this time I went from sitting on the recliner, to tossing the Nerf ball outside, to just standing around. The cleaning eventually got done, and it was about 11:00 when we were finally leaving. Shay and Robert were going straight home since they had intended on leaving at 10:45, so they weren't going to stop anywhere. I didn't feel like going anywhere either so, I went with them straight home. Shay was upset that he had a bunch of excess beer in his trunk, so we stopped on a dirt road and I dumped them in a trailhead of some sort. The problem was solved, and we continued our way down the mountain. The trip down seemed to take a while, especially since we were stuck behind a slow moving Volvo that would not move out of the way. It took about forty-five minutes to reach the freeway, and after hitting some traffic on the I-10 we made it to Shay's house at about 12:55. I took Robert home before coming back to my own house to sign online, take care of business, and eat something. I ate my leftovers from Happy Wok from about three or four days ago. I didn't realize quite how tired I was, and ended up falling asleep from about 2:30 to about 5:15. I sat at the computer pretty groggy, and checked up on some things while watching bits and peices of the Angel game. Nobody was really online while I was awake, so things got a little boring. At about 7:00 I took a shower with the intent of ordering a pizza from Blackjack and picking it up. But after calling to see if my coupon (which had no expiration date) was still good, they said no. So I just sort of sat around the house thinking of what I should eat, though I really felt like eating pizza (for the third day in a row). Finally at about 8:15 I ordered a pizza from Pizza Hut online, and it came at about 8:45. I ate about all but three pieces of one of the pizzas I ordered, and I'm not quite sure why I got two of them. I sat at the computer, and continued to watch some tv, which included the end of the Angel game, which they lost. There wasn't much on tv for a few hours, and not much to do online either, with only the occasional conversation. I got to see some of Saturday Night Live which was a little strange since I'm not used to being at home on a Saturday night, mainly because of work. At about 1:30 my parents showed up from some concert they went to, I started writing the News, after reading Paul's which took him two hours and forty minutes. I might have him beat, since I'm pushing three hours right now. It's about 4:22 and I am pretty bushed.
