He Said...
MikeHrm.. ok, well, since Mel has threatened me with many unsavory things unless I take full advantage of this oppportunity, I guess I shall. Well, in case you hadn't figured it out, my name is Mike. I used work at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, however dues to certain funding issues with NASA, my job went bye-bye. So, Mel and I moved back up here to Burlington, VT and I've changed jobs a few times, and now work for Teljet, a local ISP. "Quick" synopsis of my story: I was born in Warner-Robins, Georgia. My mother and I moved to Miami at about 1 year old. Lived there till 1992 when Hurricane Andrew relocated a good deal of our home. At that point my mother moved us back to NC. First to Gastonia, just outside Charlotte. After high school, I moved to Raleigh to attend North Carolina State University (Go PACK!). While there I got degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering. Made some of my best friends in the world, and did some partying. Oh yeah, I got an education in there somewhere... :) After graduating I took a job at the CFA in Cambridge, MA, and stayed there for about 4 years. Worked on taking classes towards a masters in CS from BU. Alas, completeion was not to be the case. Sometime around a year and a half ago I met Mel. Funny story, but you gotta ask for those details.. ;) We fell in love, but hey, you already knew that or you wouldn't be here, right? So, last summer she moved to Massachussetts (did I spell that right? I can never remember...) and we had a happy home w/ our two cats, multiple computers, outrageous heating bills, and strange neighbors. We lived in an absolutely cool place. Built in the 1850's, it used to be an overnight stop on the old Boston-Lowell stagecoach line.
That's the story... for now...

Melissa
Wow, Mike is thorough, so I'll keep mine brief. Melissa (Mel, Melsy, Hey You)
currently works at the Milton Town School District (not the boy band!)
in Milton, VT. I'm 28, a Libra/Scorpio, and sarcastic to the end. Our
two cats, Pumpkin (aka "Fatty") and Brains (aka "Stupid"), enjoy
keeping me from a good night's sleep. That combined with all of the
other work, projects and other things I get myself into, I manage to
always stay one step behind in world events, housekeeping, and
communicating with friends and family. (It's not personal, I swear!) We also have a dysfunctional, incontinent rat terrier named Spike. He's certainly an interesting personality in the family.
Many people have been asking me some of the typical post-wedding questions.. Please come visit us! I need the excuse to clean my house. I also have an apparent (subconscious) obsession with parentheses (dagnabbit). |
