This is the foot-washing stone found at the bottom of the stairs in the "Tzuba cave". It's reasonable to assume that the act of anointing one's foot also predates the second temple period by several hundred years, as the stone was found in earlier strata. Could this mikva cave's original patrons been the prophets?
