We have a rather large collection of old family photographs we would like to share with you. Many of these photos have been handed down to us from our ancestors and descendants. I'm very proud of these photos and feel fortunate to own them. Some of our oldest photos were taken in the 1850's. While most are in good condition some of the very old photos are in a some what fragile state so I don't handle them unless its absoletely necessary. Lets take a look back in time and look at some of my favorite photos of our family ancestors.
Marion Baylor Bledsoe
He was born 9/22/1820 and died 3/1/1860.He is my 3rd Great-Grandfather on my mothers side of the family.This is the oldest photograph in our collection.
Sarah Linder
Sarah is the wife of Marion Baylor Bledsoe. She was born in Tennessee in 1825 and died in Texas in 1911. They were married in 1840.
Joel Brawner's Will
Photocopy of Joel's will written in 1866. Joel appointed Jessie Johnson Brawner guardian of his estate. Copy submitted by Jack Brawner.
Jessie Johnson Brawner
Was born 2/15/1832 and died 2/16/1897. He is my 2nd Great-Grandfather. Note the cancer on his face and mouth. According to a letter written by his wife Mary Ann Quarles shortly after his death,it had gotten to the point that Jessie was no longer able to eat solid foods. She fed him soups and other liquids until he was unable to swallow anything leading to his eventually death.
John Wesley Brawner
Was born 3/10/1870 (my birthday also)in Georgia and died 10/7/1950 in Cleburne, Texas. He moved his family to Texas around 1900. He is my Great-Grandfather Brawner.These photos also includes my Great Grandmother Leona Dove Casey. Added 2 photos on 8/17/2000.
George Oscar Brawner
Several photos of Grandpa and Granny. Granny's maiden name is Maudie Mae Durham. Grandpa was born 1/12/1898 and passed away 6/11/1970 in Cleburne, Texas. He owned a small farm (about 180 acres) just outside Cleburne. Several of the photos were taken on the farm.
Browder Family
Several photos of my Great-Grandfather Joe, my Great-Grandmother Hettie, and my Grandfather Orville. One photo of my Grandmother Kate. There's also a photo of my Grandfather's Senior class in 1925.
Chisenhall Family
This is a copy of the original photo. This family photo includes my 2nd Great-Grandfather Lawrence Decatur Chisenhall and his family. The oldest child in the center is my Great Grandmother Grace Chisenhall born 9/18/1878. Photo was taken around 1890. Please read the acompanying story with the photograph. It's very interesting.
William Penn Burks
Was born 4/7/1854.He is my 2nd Great-Grandfather on my mothers side of the family.With him in the photo is his daughter Ima.

Born 2/9/1909 in Cleburne,Texas. My grandmother and my moms mother.She passed away just before my first birthday.
Bates Bledsoe Burks
My Great-Grandmother born 7/12/1879. She died at a early age in 1909 after giving birth to my Grandmother.
Margaret Pansy Burks
Born 9/18/1904. She was a great aunt. She was the manager of the Woolworths Store in Cleburne until her retirement. She played a important role in my life. I always thought of her as my Grandmother.
Lawrence Decatur Chisenhall
Born in April of 1856 and died in 1921. He was my 2nd Great-Grandfather. Father of my Great-Grandmother Grace Durham. He was a successful business man in the Burleson area.
Mary Ann Quarles
Wife of Jessie Johnson Brawner. My 2nd Great-Grandmother. Born in 1843 in Georgia and died in 1915. She had 16 children.
The Culpeppers
Old photograph of the Culpepper clan. Tollie Chisenhall Taylor wrote on the back of photo. Mama, Papa, Aunt Sallie, and Uncle Jim Webb.
Harvey Goodson
Photograph of Lina's Grandfather when he was in the service. Born 8/24/1916 he served in WWII. Recieved a Bronze Star for courage. Also a photo of Granny Goodson and their home in Ardmore.
James Albert McGuire
Photograph of Lina's Great-Grandfather McGuire. Born 3/20/1872 and died in 1964. He lived in the Ardmore, Oklahoma area most of his life. He retired from teaching school to become a farmer.
Martha Lou Chisenhall
Photograph of Martha Chisenhall, sister of my 2nd Great-Grandfather Lawrence Chisenhall. She was born 8/30/1863 in Alabama and died in California in 1939. She was married to A.B. Allen. Photo submitted by Winston Allen.
Chisenhall House
House was built around 1901 at the corner of Bransom and Renfro Street in Burleson. In 1964 was moved to make room for the new Burleson Post Office. Is located at 225 South Warren Street in Burleson.
