Satanic Verses 2
Satanic Verses 1

Back to the poetry page
(I know it's not Satanic. It's morbid.
And it's to the tune of an old Irish drinking song)

Life is only worth living, if you have a love worth loving,
Death is only worth dying, if you have a love worth loving.
But love is only worth loving, if you have a life worth living,
and love is only worth loving, if you a death worth dying.
(in High Chant)

It's Christmas in Hell,
Hark, hark, those demons yell,
"Join our celebrations,
and our drunken libations,
You'll be sure to find relief,
here where everything's about belief."
If you think you're damned, then you surely are,
but if you think it's a party, your guess is not far,
for truth is relative, in the afterlife,
and there's really no need for this hatred and strife.
Satan came here because he cried for freedom,
But God chose for all eternity to punish him.
Now he resides here, waiting for his chance,
chance for escape, and to do a little dance,
Before God he will plee, after eternity,
"Let angels have free will, and there will be no need for me.
I won our little bet about the apple, and I did not cheat.
You're just a sore loser, who won't admit he's beat.
Beelzebub was Temptation, it never was I,
I'm not the serpent, and to you I can't lie.
You're supposed to be omnisicient, so show it for once,
Let us all be free, and don't be a dunce."
