Vegetarian Chile
What I had:
     1 lb. Uncooked Beans
1 lb. Uncooked Rice (if you have instant rice, that's alright)
Chili powder (I used 4 flavor packages from Maruchan Chile Ramen; not sure if it's actually vegetarian, though. Check. And you can use the ramen for
Cheap-Ass Ramen Spaghetti)
Big Pot with lid (must be able to hold at least 4 quarts)
     about 2 hours

Useful, but not necessary:
     Colander (to drain beans with)

What I did:
First, fill the big pot with 1.5 quarts of water. Add all of the beans.
     Leave the pot uncovered.
Turn the heat to High and bring to a boil. Boil for 10 minutes.
     Drain the water.
     Rinse.
Add another 1.5 quarts of water, and boil for another 10 minutes.
     Drain.
     Rinse.
Add 1.5 quarts of water again, and boil for another 10 minutes.
     Drain.
     Rinse.
Add 1 quart of water, and the rice, and bring to a boil at Medium-High.
Leave it cooking for about 1/2 an hour. Stir occasionally.
     Now, drain the liquid.
Rinse thoroughly and scrub any bean gunk off of the pot.
Next, add a little bit of water, about 1 cup (they should still have some water you couldn't drain; if you use a colander, add a cup and a half)
Add the chile powder, and stir. Flavor to taste.

Best served hot.
Serves 2 hungry teenage guys for 2 days (serves 8-10).

--Bon Appetit!
