Enteri-Norm is formulated with the highest quality USP grade peppermint oil available in the United States. This peppermint oil is high in Menthol, menthone, and menthyl acetate, the volatile oil constituents that are thought to deliver the relaxing effect in the intestinal tract.*
Peppermint (Mentha piperita) has been used for centuries in both eastern and western herbal traditions. It is commonly classified as a carminative herb and is used to support normal digestion ant the gastrointestinal tract. A common cooking spice, its flavoring is also used in many confectionery products.
Peppermint's actions are attributed to the volatile oil content (0.3-0.4%) in the plant. The volatile oil primarily consists of menthol (29-48%), and methyl acetate (3-10%), along with smaller quantities of mentho-furan (1-7%) and limonene.
Modern scientific studies have successfully shown the ability of peppermint oil to relax gastrointestinal smooth muscle and promote normal tone in the intestinal tract.* Pharmcokinetic studies have proven that enteric-coated peppermint oil is excreted more slowly than non-coated oil. Recommended Use -

Contraindications, Adverse Reactions, or Interactions
Some persons using Enteri Norm may experience retrointestional burning and mild rectal irritation. This product should not be used by persons with cholethiasis, cholecystitis, or those with severe liver disease. It should not be used in children under the age of two years. The safety of high dose pepermint oil has not been studied during pregnacy.
