ABOUT ME
|
I am a twenty-three year old, African American woman, born and raised in Washington, DC, currently living in Maryland. Since God delivered me out of Lesbianism over four and a half years ago (in 1998), I having been committed to walking closely with the Lord and pursuing healing and holiness. My
desire is to share what God has done, and is doing in my life and to
convey the truth of His Word to the world and the church. I
have been a member of the Church of the Lord’s Disciples, in Maryland,
under Pastor Deron Cloud, for over four years. I have served both as
an usher and as a youth worker. I continue to serve as a cell group
leader, where I facilitate a small group of females, encouraging
relationships, accountability, and growth in Christ-likeness, preparing
the saints for the work of ministry. I
graduated from Duke Ellington School of the Arts in 1997 as an
Instrumental Music major. I attended Hampton University for a semester
following that as a Music Engineering Major. I am currently a student at
PG Community College, majoring in Psychology. I plan to pursue a graduate
degree in counseling. I
am an AmeriCorps Alum, having served ten months with City Year Washington
DC. I acted as a mentor, tutor and workshop facilitator for inner city
middle school students. We also performed a large amount of
community service throughout DC. I spend a large quantity of my time reading and studying materials on Christian living, leadership, character development, African American studies, homosexuality, psychology, etc.
"The Lord replied. Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen of me and what I will show you. I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by Faith in me." Acts 26:16-18
